And Arthur Blank will cut him from the Falcons and Roger Goodell is going to suspend him for a long time.
Now on ESPN they are saying large portions of the African-American community are STILL supporting Michael Vick and saying it's a conspiracy or some sort of witch hunt to get Michael Vick.....which makes no goddamned sense whatsoever!
That portion of Atlanta is showing it's ignorance believing that! It's not a racial issue it's an issue of right and wrong......why must the race card be played in every situation????

It's always a shame when an innocent man who is a positive member of the community gets framed for a crime he didn't commit just because he is not the media darling that America wants him to be.
If these same accusations were made against Peyton Manning, you and the majority of the country would be rallying around him professing his innocence.

#1 Vick was the face of the NFL
#2 Pacman Jones and the Cincinati Bengals were the focus of the NFL's "clean up your act or get the hell out policy" so they already had guys that the media knew had done wrong and were serving suspensions and it didn't really shame the entire league by doing it.
#3 The Atlanta Falcons are absolutely fucked without him and fucked if they cut him right now because it's such a HUGE salary cap hit
So to really have a conspiracy Michael Vick had to be so hated that the NFL and the Atlanta Falcons would be willing to lose HUGE ammounts of money and face in the community just to get rid of a guy who is extremely gifted athletically.

....he damn well better serve time! 5 years is probably too much but considering the charges (it's more than JUST dog fighting) I wouldn't doubt it's crossed the judge's mind....2-3 years max but he should serve over a year

Difference being most boxers voluntarily choose to go into the ring knowing what they're risking whereas animal fighting is not a choice for the animal.
I don't really like the horse racing steeplechase either - too many horses being put down with broken legs. It's not illegal but maybe should be made safer.

Well don't get me wrong, I'm not in favour of animal cruelty by any means but I don't see the difference to this and what they do in Spain and Mexico with bulls. For that matter you could argue fox hunting in the UK is just as cruel, and cock fighting.
I'm not defending him but making out like he is the worst animal sadist of all time is a bit harsh when millions around the globe slaughter or go to watch animals get slaughtered for their entertainment.
I'm not for it, but I think it's an educational thing. I wasn't brought up in Michael Vick's world, who knows what kind of mentality you would have if you were?
Same with the G Man, unless you lived his life and walked in his shoes you can't really say whether they are sick and evil or not.

I think the worst of all time doesn't sum up this guy because there are many worse but that doesn't mean it should be allowed.
Plenty of people come from bad neighbourhoods and love their pets. in his neighbourhood I bet there were a few loving pet owners. Definitely some who are not also but the idea of it being OK to ignore the dogs obvious pain and killing it inhumanely as part of a sport is a bit wrong.
Good on him for confessing and taking responsibility for what he did though.
