Anyone else picking Randy Couture over Gonzaga? *spoilers*

Whats your opinions on this matchup folks. Along with Karo Paryisian, Randy is my favourite fighter. Always has been...great sportsmaship coupled with fantastic ability and fight intelligence. Probably one of the most intelligent fighters out there.

Everyone went a bit GG crazy when he KTFO CC but i think Randy can beat him. granted the natural has had problems with big grapplers such as barnett in the past but he is the master of forming and executing a gameplan to his strengths and his opponents weaknesses.

I'd like to think Randy by stoppage in the later rounds or by UD.

Randy has amazing conditioning, GG is a bit unknown to me in that sense.

I'm with you mate - absolute love Couture - great fighter - top fella - 43 years old and still takes apart Silvia who is a monster. I thibk Couture by ground and pound in 3 rounds tops

I'll never count Couture out again, I made the mistake of thinking Sylvia would beat him and we know what happened there.

I certainly think Gonzaga did an amazing job against Cro-Cop, but I'm not going to nut-hug him quite yet. I think Randy is a genius when it comes to executing a gameplan and he's certainly better on the ground than Cro-Cop. Not to mention he's shown he has amazing hands, that bomb that rocked Sylvia in the opening of the first round would probably knock out anyone else.

I'm predicting Randy TKO round....... 2!

This is a hard one for me! You have to say you can never count Randy out and also people maybe going a bit too over the top with Gonzaga after the Cro Cop ko.

When you break it all down it is a pretty even fight really. The thing im worried about from Randys point of view is how he will handle Gonzaga being on top, he has struggled in the past when a big guy has pressured him from the top position - as mentioned the Barnett fight is the perfect example.

I'm gonna say Randy simply down to his adaptability, experience and conditioning!

Awesome awesome stuff. What more can be said? Randys gamplan was clearly to close distance and attack agressively. Like Rogan said he is a freak of nature to be doing that shit to a 250 pound BJJ world champion with freaky power. GG had no asnwer. Randy just put serious hurt on the guy.
