Side note: Juan Urango is fighting this weekend
Does anyone care? I'm curious to see how he looks against another fighter.
I only saw him fight twice.
first against Ben Rabah, where he was gifted a home-town decision, big time
and
second against Hatton, where Hatton played with him in the first half and
then skated to victory in the last half.
Anyone see any promise in this guy? I don't, I think the only reason he got to where he was,
is because he is in a very weak division right now.
Re: Side note: Juan Urango is fighting this weekend
Well best of luck to the guy...he's in the right division at the moment as quality light welters are pretty thin on the ground at the moment. His power could do him a lot of favours. Hey killersheep any idea of where i could download hatton urango, the hbo version? or any version really.

I'm not sure, but that was Hatton's most boring performance ever, by far. Urango hit Hatton with a decent left hook to the body, and
Hatton was a warrior no more, he just cruised to victory, punch, clinch, clinch, punch etc.
Sorry I can't help ya.
Re: Side note: Juan Urango is fighting this weekend
Well i agree to an extent that Rick seemed a lil troubled by those body shots.
a big worry for me was after round ten billy graham was heard saying "everyone has to con somebody once in their life."
This along with seeing Rick walking over to climb on the ropes rather than catapult himself onto them were factors that made the urango fight a real bitterswwet victory from my point of view, but i cant question hattons warriors heart because of this fight. I feel it was his physical conditioning that had disimproved due to un-professionalism between fights that was the root of the problem and it seemed to be remedied somewhat before the Castillo contest. Thank God.
Re: Side note: Juan Urango is fighting this weekend
Thanks for the info KS. Who is he fighting? I'm not that interested to be honest. I don't find him particularaly exciting but he seems to have some good power. He is awesomely slow though!
Re: Side note: Juan Urango is fighting this weekend
I seen Urango fight atleast 3 times he is one of those fighters that is good to watch strong, exciting, and cool little nick name (Iron Twin) and can take a punch, But he in my opinion won't be around too long because he can't box. When he fight a boxer he will be exposed. I basically consider him as being another Edison Miranda.
Re: Side note: Juan Urango is fighting this weekend
Nasser Athumani is the guys name, looks like he's Nigerian 20-4 with all 4 losses coming within 5 or fewer rounds.
The fight is on Friday and it's a 10 rounder.
Sounds like this guy was picked to showcase Urango's power.
Re: Side note: Juan Urango is fighting this weekend
Urango-Ben Rabah might have been the worst fight ever. Rabah did nothing, Urango amazingly did less. I didn't even care too much about Urango getting the win considering Rabah landed almost nothing all night. One punch to the gloves and then run to the other side of the ring.
And no I don't think Urango's going anywhere.
Re: Side note: Juan Urango is fighting this weekend
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Re: Side note: Juan Urango is fighting this weekend
Urango is tight. He hurt Hatton and Hatton didn't hurt him once. Plus I thought he won that crap fight with Ben Rabah who ran like a damn coward the whole night. Urango's most exciting fight was with Andre Eason, they traded knockdowns before Urango stopped him. I'd love to see Urango fight the winner of Kendall Holt vs. Ricardo Torres or Timothy Bradly, either would be a good fight. He brings it.
Re: Side note: Juan Urango is fighting this weekend
He could be a good opponent for Castillo, if Jose decides he needs to remain a fighter

He's far too wooden. He seems slow and doesn't see the punches coming right at him. He has a poor defence, but his chin makes up for it. The problem is, if it goes to the cards, he'll be the loser against decent opposition. Brute strength is his best asset, but it'll only take him so far.
He keeps himself in great shape mind, and with the right trainer he could improve. I feel he's blind to his failings though.

i thought that too when he genuinely believed he beat hatton.
