I've got it! I understand!!!
I've been examining a puzzle lately, iv taken a lot of time to examine it's history, its appearence, its physical attributes and all of its attributes.
The puzzle is Floyd Mayweather Junior.
I feel i must explain why i deem him a puzzle. Perhaps enigma is the correct term, but i wish to use simple terminology in my own personal bid to clarify this complex subject. Floyd as a fighter is a puzzle, he is at the top of the fight game right now and he pronounces himself and not without reason an All time Great. He has dominated ninety percent of the fighters who have touched his gloves in anticipation of their first round and the other ten per cent have just not been able to do enough to be deemed better than Mayweather. Yet for me he has done this without any one outstanding physical attribute or ability.
He is not a big man, probably exaggerating when he claims he is 5'8'' 5'9''. He does not possess a great deal of power, particularily at his recent weights. His speed, contrary to the bleatings of the HBO coverage is not all that exceptional, certainly Zab Judah is seen to be superior by common opponents, such as Baldomir. His style is not designed tobe better than any other boxers. Although the seniors of the Mayweather clan would be more than happy to claim that is was their genius behind the best pound for pound boxer of our age. So he just doesn't have the physical attributes, so it must be his mental make-up right?
In my opinion yes, yes it is precisely that. Despite lack of education, despite the lack of articulation or restrain when it comes to his beloved trash talking, Floyd Mayweather has the gretest mind in Boxing. Ring announcers, Television anchors, reporters, critics; they can all hype up the intelligence of other champions and contenders such as Calvin Brock with his phd, Juan Diaz still attending College working on a law degree, Lennox Lewis' articulation and skills of the mind. None of them have what Mayweather has. He is thee Greatest thinker in boxing.
In the ring he is constantly calculating, distances, times, formulas which cannot be expressed with numbers or text. He analyses the opponent, not as a psychologist would getting into his mind, but rather as an ecologist would, studying the fighters behaviour within their enviroment recording it, neutralising their aggresive defense of their territory and administering clinical blows to the foe as George Foreman so eloquently put it, "like a syringe." Fighters in general are known to counteract their opponents, Floyd neutralises the opponent. Takes away their best weapons and uses his own extensive (yet reserved) offensive arsenal to outpoint the opposing man. He is a boxing genius.
Look their just my thoughts fellas, judge as you want but thats my reckoning. I predict there gonna be a few people upset bout me pronouncin his speed overrated but it hasnt bin that apparent from l welter up so....
By the way, nobody dare call me a mayweather lover , i hate the git. But i do respect him.
Also writin stuff like this will make ricky look better when he wins ;D ;D

:coolclick: 104. I agree with everything you've said. He is the greatest boxing mind out there. He'd have to be, to go in with the fighters he has without being knocked down or even cut. In fact, he'd never been in any serious trouble in his whole career.
I also concur that I too hate him as a person, but respect him as a fighter.
Finally, I agree, posting this stuff will make Ricky look amazing when Mayweather is sprawled on the mat like a pancake ;D
Re: I've got it! I understand!!!
Well put totally agree, I dont like the guy very much but he is a boxing genius and there is no other fighter out there with a defence as good as his, not even Winky Wright. I would still love to see Hatton ko his arse though!!!

Totally agree. Hate his personality, but love his boxing perfection. His personality tends to have people root against him.
Re: I've got it! I understand!!!
Thanks guys, have been thinkin of him a good bit lately, iv also found that mayweather interviews are actually a lot more coherent, intelligent sounding and enjoyable when watchin with the sound turned off.
Re: I've got it! I understand!!!
Great post Donny. CC, mate...
While I don't hate PBF, I do think he is a dick. You would think he'd grow out of it by now but then you look at his old man and uncle and realise that he ain't gonna change. I'm sure there's a nice guy in there somewhere but he's peers and role models are not going to help him find it.
But your post was spot on. He's so fucking smart in the ring. I'd like to see Ricky beat him (and give him a chance) but I think Floyd may even stop an exhausted Hatton in the later rounds.
Re: I've got it! I understand!!!
a round of CC's ther fellas.
And taansend, the point about his role modelswas dead right 2!

I thought it was just me who thought that.
Re: I've got it! I understand!!!
Haha no mate! bzkfn i owe u CCs to but already gav ya one 2day so gotta wait.
Re: I've got it! I understand!!!
nice analysis hitmandonny. PBF's success cannot be explained by physical gifts alone. I've seen faster, more powerful fighters. He always reminded me of pernell. both were great defensive fighters with a tremendous amount of flexibility which resulted in opponents missing even if they were standing right in front of them.
you could even see both of them thinking in the ring, with their wide eyes and crouching stance, anticipating their opponents every move.
