90s vs 2000s WW Round 1 Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs James McGirt
Mayweather currently holds an impressive record of 38-0 (24KOs). He is the current WBC champion and universally recognized #1 P4P fighter in the world. His combination of skill and speed is unmatched today. Most of his career has been in the lower weight classes but he has prooven his dominance at 147 and is expected to end his career by making his mark as a Welterweight.
In 1993 James McGirt faced the toughest challenge in his career as he faced the extremely talented Pernell Whitaker. He was a great fighter in the wrong place that day. His reccord was a great one, 59-2-1 (44KOs). He was also the WBC and linear Welterweight Champion. He is in a similar situation today. Lets see how he does.

Mayweather would win on points.
McGirt was a very good fighter and a deserving champ, but he wasn't quite on that highest level. He got KO'd by Meldrick Taylor, lost a close to decision to Whitaker, and was then dominated by Whitaker in the rematch. He just didn't have the speed to match the top guys punch for punch.
