90s vs 2000s Welterweights Semifinals Shane Mosley vs Pernell Whitaker
Whitaker was just too seasoned and too skilled for the young Cotto and dominated him in his last fight. Lets see if the young Puertorrican can learn from that fight and recover. Now it is a different story when Sweet Pea faces equally fast, skilled and experianced Sugar Shane Mosley.
Mosley went through another close fight with his nemesis De la Hoya. "Call me a sparring partner now!" he said at the end of the fight after winning a close yet decicive UD. He has another tough fight coming up against the elusive Whitaker.
What great fights we have in out epic semifanals!!!

We had a thread on this matchup once. I was going to look for my post from that thread, but the search feature is messed up.
Anyway, Whitaker wins this. Mosley's speed would give anyone problems, but Whitaker is too well rounded for Mosley. Whitaker by decision.

Would be a great fight either way, but these two were both considerably better at lightweight imo...

Whitaker would edge this one
Re: 90s vs 2000s Welterweights Semifinals Shane Mosley vs Pernell Whitaker
It might be too heavy for WHitaker... he wasn't as good at 147 as he was at lightweight nor was Mosley, but I think Mosley is substantially faster than Whitaker and he has a lot more power. I think this fight is really close.
