42 years old today.
Whether you rate him highly or not, he was a great ambassador for the sport and I'm well chuffed that I was at his first and final pro fights.
Also, its 12 years ago today that Frank Bruno won the WBC Heavyweight Title from Oliver McCall at Wembley. I remember him desperately hanging on for the last couple of rounds, then the fireworks going off at the final bell and Nigel Benn nearly breaking his back trying to pick Frank up. ;D
Wow is it 12 years ago already :o
Remember loads of us watching that one in the pub.

I always admired Lennox Lewis, certainly a class act throughout his career and a great champion with diginity. Although Lennox is almost seen as an enigma in a sport where personalities sometimes can become overwhelming, i respect the fact that he kept his personal life away from the public.
Tyson in comparison is like an open book and its come to the point where people start to feel sorry for the guy. However, having said all that i still think Lennox Lewis is a raging homosexual lol
Lennox was the best of the recent modern heavyweights. Where that puts him in the pantheon of all time heavyweights I do not know.
But happy birthday is all that is called for here.
When we think about LL, surely he has to be put in there with the all time greats, because, like every other sport things progress with every generation, (with the exception of the current crop) and LL would have matched the best ever in the ring.Quote:
