Whatever happend to Jose Antonio Rivera and Alejandro Garcia?
A couple years back these two put on a great great slugfest. Then Rivera lost badly to Simms and I dunno what happend to Garcia. I'd love to have seen either of these two step up and fill in for Vargas and face Mayorga, but does not look like thats gonna happen at all. Or I'd love to see a rematch between these two, both are warriors. Anybody got any info on these guys?

Rivera is fighting Daniel Santos on the Maskaev-Peter undercard (October 6th).

No title on the line, but definitely still a high profile bout for Rivera.

^ That's right, that bout is a WBA eliminator (I think) so the winner is supposed to get shot at Alcine.

CC. Good news on Rivera, hiim and Santos should put on a good show. Rivera should beat him, Santos hasn't been active for a while. No news on Garcia though huh? Guy could bang and had heart, not a great chin, but a ton of heart. In the one fight I seen him in with Rivera he fought his heart out.
Re: Whatever happend to Jose Antonio Rivera and Alejandro Garcia?
I remember when 'Terra' Garcia was the talk when it came to up and coming Mexican fighters this was a few bouts prior to the Simms loss. Which I'll never forget cause I personally couldn't stop laughing I mean who doesn't know the phrase 'Protect yourself at ALL times'? Simms caught him with a picture perfect hook as the ref. broke up the action.
Anyway, the 'Terra' vs. Rivera fight was a good one and credit to Rivera for fighting like that on that nigh, you can tell that guys got heart. I don't think it will help him much against Santos cause Santos is physically stronger and IMO is more skilled then Rivera. Santos does things slightly better then Rivera. Riveras chance her is to make Santos throw the skill out the window and engage Santos to turn the fight more into a hearts and guts competition.
Re: Whatever happend to Jose Antonio Rivera and Alejandro Garcia?
Terra Garcia may be fighting Joachim Alcine,Alcine mentioned it in an interview,he wants to stay active. Alcine will fight the winner of the Rivera and Santos fight. If Santos was active,I'd take him to beat Rivera but he hasn't,so it'll be a close fight. However Rivera has problems with boxers so I'd still favour Daniel.

Yeah, that Rivera/Garcia fight was an entertaining one!
