Time to hang em up. He has had too many wars and hard fought fights and should call it a career. He cant win a belt now and he starting to get beaten up by guys that he should school. I hope hes made enough money to retire and enjoy life after boxing, but more importantly I hope he doesn't continue fighting.
To be fair the guy who beat him sounds like a fairly decent prospect but I do agree he should hang up the gloves. The last few accounts of himself havn't been very impressive. All the best to him. He has 60+ pro fights now as well which is a lot for a fighter these days. He should get out while he still has half a brain
I knew he was fighting. Saw it on Boxrec a couple weeks back. The guy he fought looked okay (paper) so beating him wouldnt of cuased much of a stir. But to loose against him, so decisvely :-\

Its nothing new . Augustus has lost to guys worse than this . He'll be back to spring afew surprises im sure .
Im kinda thinking he's done springing upsets actually. Hasn't looked good lately, he's clearly on the decline physically, reflexes have slown down, legs don't look that good, doesn't look as quick as he used too. The first time I noticed him slowing down was the Jaime Rangel fight and he hasn't looked too good since then.
Although its hard to tell if he was truly dominated like the article says, fightnews rely on these local commentators who don't always seem that objective.
I wouldn't be surprised to hear Augustus say he got robbed. It's his excuse for every loss

someone needs to give him a money fight before he leaves.
He probably hasnt made that much at all in his boxing career.
I told my girl Starr many moons ago, Augustus was never more then a gate keeper and he will never be more then that.
Never liked his style, never liked him as a fighter and never thought much of him.
A gate keeper to some title is what he is.
i actually saw this guy in the gym when we played basketball. he seems pretty cool and laid back. he does look old now and he should hang em up soon.
I like him as a fighter, but as much as I hate to admit it almost every elite or top level guy hes been in the ring with, hes lost. I think he is better than a c class fighter though and if he is a gatekeeper hes been a top gatekeeper which aint so bad imo.Quote:
