Boxing's biggest Summer/Fall line up and yet....
The buzz seems to be missing, with Calzaghe v Kessler, Pac v Barrera, Hatton v Mayweather, Calzaghe v Kessler etc. coming up, the boxing press, sports media, hell even the forums seem dead as a dodo. Or is it just me?

Theres been countless threads of debates about Mayweather vs Hatton Calzaghe vs Kessler Pac vs Barrera and 11 page thread of Miranda vs Pavlik maybe its just you but all i know is that i have posted countless times about all the fights you have just mentioned the excitement is here trust me.

I guess it might just be the critics in all of us over analyzing all the big fights coming up, but when you look at the list you have to recognise we're spoilt rotten this autumn. It may just be over anticipation of these big fights, I feel like they are owed to me and now that I know they are coming, it's like it should have happened already.

Maybe it's the UFC effect, with that it's like every fight is a quality match up, and fireworks are certain to go off. Every card I can remember over the last 2 years in the UFC has had my heart pumping, only 1 in 3 boxing cards have topped the UFC on average, but when they did top it, it was by miles. UFC guarantees excitement every show they have, and it's not just shallow bloodsport either, it's the real deal, if you study it there's as much science as there is brutality. Boxing at it's best is a lot better than UFC, but boxing at it's average is much worse. Both are value for money, but the UFC delivers quality every time.

I actually enjoy watching UFC i always watch it when its on im not going to make out i know alot about UFC but i enjoy it sometimes its good to have a change and i watch UFC like every 2 weeks or so and its nice change and its different pace.

I actually feel like it's running ahead, my memories of UFC 70 in the MEN are much fonder than when I went to see Joe Calzaghe v Jeff Lacy. At the UFC, I was allowed to attend the weigh-ins, a meet and greet and an after party, And my tickets in exactly the same spot were £100 instead of £300. They offer much more entertainment £4£

It may be running ahead but I will never trade boxing for UFC. I've always said that a fight is won standing up with your 2 fist. Not by kicking, holding, pulling hair and biting. :boxingmatch:

Gotta agree with you Dan....It seems like there was more of a buzz when the fights were being talked about rather then now when they are on the cusp of taking place

As a longtime, traditional boxing fan, i agree wholeheartedly. UFC is fun to watch when there's no boxing going on, but I wouldn't trade one for the other, and I hope boxing is still going strong even if UFC turns out to be a fad (not saying it will) and fades out with time.

I have to agree with you guys,especially you Dan,I'm not feeling the hype for the big fights or maybe I felt it prematurely i.e there were dozens of threads here when the fights were announced but as the fights approach,things have gone quieter?
And I would agree that MMA events(not UFC in particular) have great cards usually(especially PRIDE which as way better than UFC) but when boxing has a great card,for pure excitment,it is unbeatable. Having said that,this year has just been an amazing year for boxing,almost the perfect year if there is such a thing.
I agree Titofan,I want and believe boxing will continue to stay strong,in fact,I think the emergence of the world of MMA has lit a fire in boxing/boxing matchmaking because last year was not that good a year for exciting fights(in boxing) and MMA definitely made up ground but this year has been awesome for both. I think there is space for both the world of MMA and boxing,side by side.
