What ever happened to James Broad?

I was wondering if anyone knew what became of James Broad? I know he was a hyped DK hw in the 80s who struggled with weight issues and fell short of his potential, but I was wondering how he died? I've heard horror stories about him being found broke and homeless in Nevada in his 40s but looking like he was 100, searching for his family. Anyone have any info on the big guy? I heard him commentating Julian Jackson vs Harris from 84 and he seemed like a good, intelligent fellow and Sheridan (who he was commentating with) had high hopes for him
