# The company is planning to make a strong push for the UFC brand in Japan. One wonders if it would make sense to push the WEC in the market. With its lighter weight classes, it would be more friendly to Japanese fighters.
# Cro Cop hasn’t been taking the company’s phone calls of late and his future is very much in doubt. With such a high downside guarantee to go with his lackluster performance, he has become very expendable.
# Sean Sherk passed a lie detector test saying that he did not knowingly use steroids. While certainly not conclusive, it can’t hurt his chances at getting his suspension over turned or at the very least reduced.
# Dan Henderson wants to stay at 205 while the UFC wants him to drop to 185 for another unification match. Henderson only has one fight left on his current contract.
Dam,is this the end for CroCop? And Henderson soon too? Or you think Dan will be re-signed?
Re: Rnadom news(interesting info here)
sherk going to the extent of taking a lie detector test is a fucking joke, the man has probably been roiding forever, fuck him
UFC will NEVER be sucessfull in japan, those two homo brothers, along with dana white, promised dream stage that they would continue to operate pride in japan...
about a day or two ago pride japan employees were informed by phone call that they are all now jobless
Re: Rnadom news(interesting info here)
I think WEC in Japan is a great idea and i would like to see more hype for the wec in the U.S. of course me being 135lbs is the reason for my love for the wec. ;)
I want to see Henderson take on some more of the UFCs 205 competition

totally agree with the highlighted. Who knows how reliable detectors are? Thats a pile of BS imo.
Re: Random news(interesting info here)
hmm strange ... I thought Mirko with his recent nose surgery for
the narrow nose canal was a sign of him making an effort to come back
since he did state it affected his stamina very much.
Good thread !

I didn't know about Mirko's nose! And thanks for the CC but you can't give thm out until you get to 100 posts. Then a COOL CLICK and SAD CLICK buttn appears under my name. So keep posting and get me my cc lol. Cool name by the way and here's your CC.
Re: Random news(interesting info here)
Come on Sal, little tough on Sherk considering your affection for Pride fighters and we all know the rumors of rampant steroid use there. Mirko is done, but I'm sure UFC won't just let him not complete his contract. UFC with the right management will do just fine in Japan. K1 has gotten a pretty good stable, but they haven't shown enough continuity as an Org. The market is wide open. I think Henderson should fight at 185. I don't think he is big enough to fight most top LHWs.
Re: Random news(interesting info here)
Alrighty.....here's my two cents:
Sherk needs to suck it up and take his suspension. If he's serious about fighting, he'll take the time off to train and get ready to come back better than ever. A lie detector test isnt going to clear him.
Not too sure about CC. He's an amazing fighter, but he hasnt been himself lately for whatever reason. I just hope he gets his head back in the game and starts fighting like the CC of old, otherwise, it may be time to hang up the gloves.
There's no reason WEC couldnt take off in Japan. It has a pretty decent stable of fighters, but it is going to need more Japanese fighters and more production if it wants to be successful there. Essentially, replace the Pride ring and rules with the cage and NSAC rules (that apparently insist on using everywhere, which I guess makes sense for consistancies sake). Otherwise, its a LONG uphill battle.
Hendo is a great fighter. He has a long career ahead of him yet. If he wants to fight at 205, let him. But UFC is right in asking him to unify his remaining belt. Until he moves to defend it, that title has no meaning any longer. Besides, as said earlier, I think he'd fair much better there. But that's still his call to make.
