Ok I’ll admit I am exaggerating Steven Luevano’s skills to compare him to the great Sweat Pea but it is twice I have seen him and he does remind me of Whitaker in the sense that he is southpaw, elusive, not a power puncher, good body puncher, world class operator and very very patient. I believe he should have gone for the finish against Antonio Davis but what do people think of Luevano?

I don't know quite about Pernell whitaker, but he is very elusive, has a great jab, and he attacks the body well, he kinda reminds me of Christian Mijares, another up and comer.

Luevano and Whitaker don't belong in the same sentence. That be said, I think Luevano is a good fighter who's been proven people wrong lately. Hopefully he keeps it up. He's also from La Puente. An area I spend a good amount of time at.

OK I accept I exaggerated but it got your attention. The commentators also talked about the good work he does in the community and his trainer was world champion i remember.
I thought he looked pretty good against Cook although I really haven't seen much of Cook and not too sure how good he is. Didn't see the Davis fight but I know Davis is not that good, well see how he does when he steps it up.
