Penalosa was the much more effective guy the first time out, but I guess the judges liked Ponce's work rate.
I don't mind seeing it again if it happens, looks like its pretty likely according to the guy from GBP

I really liked the first fight but that was not Ponce. He looked shockingly bad but I still thought he won based on activity. He was a volumer puncher for some reason,but I think in the rematch,he'll sit down on his shots more. I love watching Penalosa fight but he does not have the activity levels to win. Ponce via Split decision. Gerry is too tough to ko.

i know i sound like a puuuusssseeee you beat him once you have nothing to prove
but i watch very entertaining.
I thought Penalosa won the first one so I'm fine with a rematch. I love volume punchers but Ponce wasn't landing anything of note, looked kind of confused and Penalosa was landing some very nice shots even if he isn't that active.
Got a feeling Ponce will win this one without too much controversy though. Not sure why but that's what I'm thinking.
I agree that it was a dam tough fight to score. I just found it hard to give Gerry a round when he landed 2 or 3 super clean shots but Ponce threw 100 per round,to the body(reminded me of Margarito-Williams,Margarito threw harder,Williams tonnes more) I agree Ponce looked confused and I agree that he would win the rematch. He and his camp acknowledged that they took Gerry lightly and he said won't make the mistake of being a volume puncher again.Quote:

gerry should be taking on arce especially with the scuffle incident between them right after the pac-mab fight.
i honestly think this fight is a mistake for gerry. he doesn't have enough power put de leon out. although i see penalosa surviving the full route it would be a unanimous win for danny boy. of course i've been wrong before with gerry like what happened with the jhonny gonzales fight.
De Leon most probably will win with a UD but it will be a tough fight for him.Quote:
