Re: Am i going off boxing?
I have been feeling like that since Tyson retired. The fighter that did get me going have retired like Eric Morales, Tito (although making another silly comeback), Tszyu.
I like Hatton and Israel Vasquez but hand on heart could not say they get me off my seat like Nigel Benn did or Tyson.
Re: Am i going off boxing?
there have been some big names retiring this year and you do wonder who will fill the gap. You just need some good names to tear it up and you'll be right back.

nothings changed tho because i still get excited about big fights and i'd hate to turn into the average big fight boxing fan. HELP!
Welcome back. :coolclick: I had noticed you gone...but figured you'd be back. Pretty much everyone goes through what you do...even the most devoted of us...but if you love boxing you can never truly let it go.
Don't bail on spending time with your woman over a few shitty fight cards...trust me...the "POON" will serve you better than "PPV"...just ask Missy. ;D
Re: Am i going off boxing?
I am trying to pin my hope on Andre Berto and Andre Ward. Heavyweights are pathetic so also rooting for David Haye.
Re: Am i going off boxing?
This same thing happend to me after Tito's first retirement.
I didn't really watch the lower divisions back then and all I saw was the ocational HW fight.
I missed a lot of big fights. Mosley-DLH 2, Mosley - Forrest 1 and 2, the fall of Roy Jones, MAB - Morales 2 and 3, PACMAN - MAB 1, PACMAN - Moralez 1 and 2, even the great Castillo - Corrales fight which I still have not seen >:mad I could go on and on.
Cotto pretty much brought me back(I guess you can tell by now that I am from PR). I started to get more into it again, especially the lower weights. I started to look at the boxing sites for more news on the new guys in town. I got into this forum and I have to say that this great forum, along with this increadably great year have got me hooked like never before.
Re: Am i going off boxing?
I have missed a number of fights, a lot of Cotto, there are some good top quality fights so not going yet, but I guess it happens to us all when our favourite fighter hangs up his gloves. So do you think Tito will beat Roy? Head not heart what is it telling you.

Who are you asking?

Re: Am i going off boxing?
It happens to everyone i was the same when Jones lost trilogy to Tarver and got KO by Glen Johnson and even recently i was very disappointed one of my favorite fighters lost aka Barrera but i got over it i love the sport to much thats why i train in boxing watch boxing about 5 times a week and come on here to chat with some very knowledgable posters about the sport i love no matter how many disappointments i get in boxing i know i will never stop loving boxing.
Re: Am i going off boxing?
Boxing is my food, i need it to live but i still have my moments where i find it hard to care about some parts of the sport. When two nameless guys meet to become an alphabet champion i cant pretend i care, when heavyweights plod through twelve rounds only throwing one punch combinations it leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth, hell when i train for 4 months and my opponent doesn't show up i feel sick!
But on the other hand we've got great champions facing off at the moment, we've got fights like Vasquez/Marquez and Castillo/Coralles fresh in our memory and for me most of the time trining feels damn good!
