Why I was impressed by Pacquaio.
A lot of people are saying that this fight wasn't as good as it could have been because Barrera didn't fight back, but he did. Barrera was trying to fight a tactical fight, and he was outpunched and outboxed by Pacquaio. What amazed me was that Pacquaio was landing good combinations getting out of the way, he wasn't stepping out of his element even close to as often, and when we saw little bits of the old Pacquaio, Barrera was getting the best of him. Pacquaio didn't get wild too often, he had great timing, good counter punching and amazing footwork. This, or maybe his last fight are the first step to a less exciting Pacquaio, but one who will outboxed almost anyone with his speed, stamina, and footwork if he keeps up what he did against Barrera. Kudos to him for getting a not only solid, but good defense.

:coolclick: now I know I'm not alone.
what impress me is that pac beat mab in mabs own prefered technical fight and pac beat mab in a wider u.d then jmm did.
everybody has been talking about it was a dull fight and pac wasn't 100% but I though pac has evolve to what his critics have been doubting. Critics use to say pac can't box, he can't move his too wild, but we are starting to see a settled pacman that uses his speed and accuracy in a more technician way then how he use to use it, in a in your face I'm going to run you over way. His body movement boost his defense too and he is dodgeing punches and also countering. Pac has been mixing it up, his movement also boost his offense, the power is more controlled but the speed is whats dominating, his stamina is always at its best too.
After the pac and mab 2, I can't really see anyone beating him. the only one is jmm but I'll have to see his next fight before I can count jmm out.

Technical?!?!?! Technical? You gotta be kiddin me?!?!?!
The only thing technical about that fight was that Barrera was technically running the majority of the fight. Marquez walked Barrera down & Barrera was'nt worried about gettin stopped...that's the only reason that it seemed like a wider gap.

I still need to watch this fight again, but I do remember thinking that Manny made a good adjustment - was it round three? Four maybe? Barrera was stepping back and circling away from Manny's left, and he followed Roach's advice the next round. I'm probably off on the exact round, but does anyone else remember that?

IT WASN'T A BRAWL IT WASN'T A WAR, it was a technical fight that mabman prefered thats why he kept the pace that way. Pac was more than please to allow it becuase it made no difference to him, he'd still beat mab in any type of fight.

Your great for this site, and the sport Wacko, but I am have to strongly disagree with you. Pacquaio was much harder to counter this fight than he has been in the past. He doesn't let his hands drop after throwing a combination anymore. He has always had great feints and the ability to get off quickly from a million angles at the right time, but now he isn't getting caught very much after he comes in. Barrera is an excellent counter puncher, and he didn't counter Pacquaio hardly at all when Pacquaio wasn't going crazy. The Marquez fight imo was closer on all levels than this fight, and Pacquaio was walking down Barrera, but using great footwork and angles to offset Barrera, and his upper body movement was terrific.
