Various news: Ouma, Spinks, JL Castillo
Ouma's moving back down to 154, fighting a guy named Saul Roman, looks like a bit of a stay busy fight as the guy's record looks pretty good-27-4 with 24 KO's-but he was stopped twice by Sergio Martinez and apparently lost to a journeyman.
Spinks could be fighting Verno Phillips next at 154, they're negotiating it now. I like Verno, he's a solid guy but Spinks should outbox him
JLC is coming back at 140, October 27 versus a guy named Adan Cassilas. Seems kind of pointless to keep fighting, clearly not the guy he once was but who knows what will happen.
Didn't feel like starting three threads, all this is from fightnews.

Oh and the other Kameda's been suspended for a year.

Re: Various news: Ouma, Spinks, JL Castillo
CC,thanks for the info. I'm not too keen on Ouma(no offence). JLC's best days appear to be past him, judging by his last 2 fights. He looks slow, turgid at 140. Not too keen on a Spinks Phillips fight, surely Spinks could fight someone else/try to unify?

;D I'll get over it somehow
I'd rather see some of the other fights at 154 than Spinks-Phillips but I like Verno, good to see him get one last shot, the guy's just a solid pro.

Re: Various news: Ouma, Spinks, JL Castillo
What would spinks unify, he would have to hold a belt to unify
His last fight was a defeat at middle and he is moving back down
I think he is just rebuilding his name, even though he did himself wonders in the taylor fight, he is obviously trying to get back in the rankings to force a title fight because he is obviously an avoided fighter, so much so he had to move up weights to embarass bigger fighters in Karmazin and Taylor
F*ck knows how that little nut job Spinks beat him, probably the lack of power, which makes Taylors performance against Spinks even funnier

Oh crap,I thought Spinks had a title, moved up for the 1 fight and came back with his title intact?

When you see little nut job Spinks, I'm guessing you meant to put Judah, as in fuck know's how Judah beat Spinks which makes Taylor's failure to do so even funnier.
Cos the rest of the thread wouldn't make sense else seeing as you sound pretty big on Spinks in the rest of the post? ???

Re: Various news: Ouma, Spinks, JL Castillo
Yeah sorry, glad you didnt get all sh*tty there ;D
Just had a bottle of red with my lamb curry ;D
I did mean judah, Zab is a good little fighter but resistance prevails over zab, his little rant over hatton made me laugh, Ricky would make him quite alott faster than Cotto who reminds me of the little wind up gorrilas that shuffle forwards at 1 speed, not sure everyone will get the jist of what i just said but a little wind up toy that slowly moves forward till it stops, no speeding up or down just slowly forward then nothing
I like Spinks he cracks me up with his dancing, how he dont f*ck himself up before he even gets to the ring is beyond me, I remember when he fought Mayorga and the world was hot on crazy dangerous Mayorga and Spinks boxed circles round him, awesome, i also like mayorga. I respect zab but like I said resistance will make him bitch

Re: Various news: Ouma, Spinks, JL Castillo
Sounds like a build up to a match.I like Ouma at 154 but his candle is burning fast.Roman should be perfect bounce back, perfect C level with good record.
spinks.....To be honest Is not "right".Hes not the brightest Lightbulb on the christmas tree! His PUUUrree Boxing/Footwork skills are apparent and abound But personnaly I cant stomach him.Should the ring stay dry and spinks can refraim from spontaniously crying all over He'll most likley dance around Verno Phillips & get a WWWW.10.secretley I'll pray for a wicked left to dislodge Spinks from his sences.Phillips is all brass balls but on the other side of the hill,....... watched Phillips vs.quartey again last night and He had Ike messed up bad in the 9th w/2 knockdowns.

Re: Various news: Ouma, Spinks, JL Castillo
Verno has been one of the most underrated fighters and champions of the last 10 years+ imo. He has beaten very solid opposition even as of late but he never get a big payday that he deserves. He seems to get the short end of the stick a lot like against Quartey where it should have been a draw. He is getting old but he has looked very good as of late and I think he has a good style to beat Spinks. He is pretty akward and uses lots of angles. Plus he usually has a very good workrate. Id love to see him win this fight and hopefully get a big money fight.

Re: Various news: Ouma, Spinks, JL Castillo
Spinks is just so boring and light-hitting. I definitely do not want to see him fight. I appreciate defense, but I like to see offense too. 154 is shaping up to be a pretty good weight class with Forest, Santos, et al. Hopefully the powers that be can get these guys in the ring. Perhaps 2008 is the year of the junior middleweights.

Re: Various news: Ouma, Spinks, JL Castillo
I'd rather see Ouma and Spinks fight. And Castillo should definately retire if he doesn't look good, and I doubt he will.
