Pernell Whitaker's First Pro Fight.
Re: Pernell Whitaker's First Pro Fight.
Pernell Whitaker was damn impressive in his first pro fight you could see he was something special even that early in his career.
Re: Pernell Whitaker's First Pro Fight.
Only seen sweetpea in his biggest fights, almost looks nothing like the style I seen so many times. You can see the skill though straight away and then he developed great entertaining defence as he went on. Good vid cc would like to see more.
Naz had a good debut too. You could see the skill in the same way (shame he wasted it)

Re: Pernell Whitaker's First Pro Fight.
That card featured the debut fights for all the fighters who were on the 1984 US Olympic Team, which many people consider to be the most talented Olympic boxing team ever.
Pernell Whitaker, Evander Holyfield, Meldrick Taylor, Mark Breland, Virgil Hill, Tyrell Biggs.

SweetPea had shown skill and lots of talent since he was an amateur.
His flowed in the ring like water current movements that seemed sinked but were all really going with the flow of the opponent.

Spot on Pea and you can't leave out Paul tho as a pro he didn't accomplish much but boy was he a treat to watch.
Re: Pernell Whitaker's First Pro Fight.
Pernell looked like a pro from day 1. I give the other guy credit for his chin. Can't believe he was still standing. Pernell didn't drop bombs, but he got guys outta there. Already hit you with a CC, get you later.

I have never seen any of Whitaker's amateur fights Mick but what people sometimes forget is that even though Whitaker was defensive wizard he also had solid chin i mean he was well past his prime vs Tito and took Tito's best shots for the full 12 rounds.
