How do I ago about being a Boxing Ref

I have wanted to be a ref for a while and dont know what kind of credentials are needed to accompolish that. Any info?

Thats a problem,youve got to find someone who's willing to use you,and build a reputation

To be an amateur boxing ref Go to usaboxing.org or call them and ask where and when the clinics are They have boxing clinics all the time where you go to a designated place in your state, youll take a 4 hour or so course then take a level 1 test. This test is easy. then youre a level 1 official. There are three levels in the us. You would have to start in local shows. Its a hard thing to get good at but if your dedicated youll get better and better. You basically move up the latter as you improve. Hope this helps.

Thanks bud ;) I found a hook up along the same lines.... Start you off as a time keeper, then a judge and based on your performances. you get evaluated and reccomended to be a ref

Im from Boston and got licenced as a trainer a couple tears ago but took the level 1 exam last year just for the hell of it. It was pretty easy. Mostly common sence. There arent too many people volunteering to ref so if you wanted to do it I think the higher officially would try and move you along pretty fast. I thought abuot reffing but too much pressure plus they are the most hated figures in the sport and least appreciated. Good luck man
