Hi Guys, I've never actually been to a public weigh in the night before the fight. Where do they hold them?
(sorry if that is a stupid question)

I've only been to one and that was in a hotel lobby. Well, not the lobby proper, but an open area next to the lobby.
All of the public weigh-in's that I have been too were for big fights & took place @ the conference room or convention center of the casino's hotels.
How did you find out about them. I wanna go to the Cotto-Mosley one before the fight. If I'm making the trip, I'm seeing it all.Quote:

Not all weigh in's are public....Big fights like Mosley Cotto may be private.....just because a fight that big the weigh in's would get out of hand with 10,000 prople attending.....
You can usually find out on the promoters web site if they are public or just media
Hatton had 5,000 for the Castillo weigh in didn't he?Quote:

I think there was a parade when Castillo made weight for the Hatton fight ;DQuote:

I would imagine people are just happy that the fight is almost guaranteed after waiting so long.Quote:

Sometimes if its at a nice arena that has a conference hall, or media location they will do it there. Sometimes the location of the fight has a contract with a local hotel to promote the fight, and the hotel will have the contract to hold the weigh in, and pre-fight conference. You can call the office of the promotion company handling the fight, they will tell you where it is, if it has been decided.
Good luck! take pics!
They set it up as public for publicity and to draw the drowd...That is why I said not all are publicQuote:
