pavlik versus kessler ;)
i think kessler is going to stop calzagne and that should and hopefully set up a gigantic battle between pavlik and kessler. Gotta love these guys going at eachother, finally we are getting top fighters versus top fighters all undefeated too. If not kessler, calzagne will prolly make it difficult to make a pavlik bout so i'm hoping kessler knocks him out. I have more faith in kessler wanting to fight anyone,anytime and ANYWHERE.
Pavlik is still young and developing. Let him establish his legs with top middleweight competition for a few more fights and then let him move up. There are still many interesting fights at Middleweight he can dapple into. Why put him into superfights when he has not proven himself totally yet? Let the man make some defenses and some money first.
I find right now he still fights with too much of a machismo mindset at times and he has to correct that. Let the Joe/Kessler winner fight Hopkins for now.
Pacman vs JMM definitely will be a candidate.
Your asking what will be the fight of the year for 2008?

I mean Kelly vs. Kess hasn't even been signed.... :(
If I had to guess I would say Marquez vs. Vasquez III cause as far as I know that's the closest fight there is to really happening in 2008 and even then it's no guarantee. :(

Pavlik will not fight Kessler next year. Let him enjoy the MW championship for about 2 years and when he's too big for the division he'll bump up and take on Kessler or whomever else is in the division.
Look for the 2008 fight of the year to involve Miguel Cotto and another undefeated fighter. Paul Williams, Floyd Mayweather, perhaps even Ricky Hatton (though he'll have one L on his record by then).
