After seeing cotto SSM again i change my pick..
For the longest time i felt like shane would beat floyd almost in the same fashion that cotto beat shane (a very close fight) but after seeing cotto hit mosley with clean right hands all night. Mosley would be in hell in a fight with PBF...Shane doesn't move like he used to..He once used to have excellent movement, he beat oscar in the first fight when oscar has one of the most accurate rights in history and couldn't land one clean on shane. Also congrats to cotto because i needed a new fighter to replace tito as one of my favs and now its cotto.
And I think after that, floyd-cotto isn't happening...but i can say cotto-delahoya....delahoya is mouth watering for that fight and would love to beat the young champ, but i'm afraid oscar might be beaten to a bloody pulp in that fight...I want cotto-pbf, there's more to gain for cotto instead of margarito...a fight with margarito only makes sense if someone just wants to see a champ fight an overrated ex-champ now contender. it might be entertaining but there's nothing to gain for cotto and that's a several steps backwards for him....pbf,hatton,williams those should be is fight unless he wants oscar for a huge payday....
Re: After seeing cotto SSM again i change my pick..
A Margarito Cotto fight would HUGE on PR parade day.Mexico v Puerto Rico, does not get much bigger than that in boxing. It was also be the most exciting out of all the fights you mentioned.
Out of interest, why don't you think a Floyd-Cotto fight will be made?

First Mosley never moved a whole lot at any point in his career... he was always standing in front of his opponent throwing punches. Secondly I think Mayweather will fight Cotto if the money is right... If he is willing to first Oscar at 154 I think thats as gutsy as fighting Cotto at 147... Also about Cotto-Oscar Dela Hoya, I think that Cotto would be beaten. Oscar is a little bit faster, and he hits as hard or harder than Cotto... They are very similar fighters, but I think that Oscar is a little bit more versatile, buts a very close fight which I would love to see, however there is no way that Oscar would get a beat down... at this point in his career I see him being a lot stronger than Mosley.

because i'm having the strangest feeling that hatton will be closer than many think and floyd will use a close decision over hatton or possibly a lost to officially retire...and if hatton does beat floyd there most certainly will be a rematch.. and delahoya will seize the opportunity to fight cotto i mean who else can oscar fight? the same as usual politics will keep it from happening..but i want it to happen...floyd needs to fight hatton, cotto, williams, he needs these guys for his place in history....i
Re: After seeing cotto SSM again i change my pick..
Floyd rocked Oscar and hurt him to the body, you really think he wants to fight Cotto?1 grazing shot from Bernard put him down for the count.Oscar hardly fights, has lost speed,CANNOT fight 12 rounds without gassing v 35 punch a round Floyd, how is he going to last with Cotto?
Cotto's body attack, jab and southpaw stance would beat Oscar. I'm 100% confident Cotto would beat on Oscar.
Re: After seeing cotto SSM again i change my pick..
Mosley didnt look like he had much power in the Cotto fight. That was obvious the way Mosley Sr. kept telling him how to throw punches...thought that was kind of weird for a veteran like Mosley to need to be reminded of that.
I would love to see Oscar-Cotto and think that Oscar would win hands down. If dlh has one thing still it is power. He also expressed interest in having a war before he retires, and a Cotto fight would fit that bill. It would be a huge money fight, second to only Oscar-Hatton. Also, Cotto just beat Oscar's man Shane to add more fuel to the fire.
Too bad Oscar made some promise to his wife that he would no longer fight a Puerto Rican fighter. The good news is Im not sure how much Oscar's word is worth!

he stood in front of guys and overpowered them..when he fought and A-rated fighter like oscar shane's circling the ring is what won the fight...he had shoulder movement..not that he fought at angles like rjj or pbf but he did use his legs much more in the past. and pbf won hit shane with a lot of rights....
and cotto would beat oscar down to submission..cotto is no vargas... oscar has a chance because he has power but how much power would he have after cotto unleashes the .50 caliber body shots to ODLH under exercised gut... not long. and i'm not going to use the bhop body shot as an example because i felt like oscar flopped in that fight...fake ass acting....real body shots freeze a man not make him have an epilepsy...

We agree for ONCE!! CC,agree with your post especially the last part. ;)
Re: After seeing cotto SSM again i change my pick..
In all honesty, anyone who thinks Oscar has a chance at beating Cotto is delusional. Oscar is soft in the body and Cotto is arguably the best body puncher in the business, not a good combination. I even heard someone say that Oscar was TOO FAST for Cotto, WHAT?! Oscar could not possibly be faster than Mosely is today. Cotto would handle Oscar's speed without breaking a sweat.
Oscar says he wont fight Cotto cause his wife doesn't want him to fight Puerto Rican fighters. Oscar doesn't want to fight Cotto cause Cotto would rock him. Oscar hand-picks his opponents and Cotto to me doesn't classify as "beatable by Oscar."
Another thing, if Cotto fights Margarito next, that is complete and utter BULL!!! Margarito just lost to Paul Williams and is one or two wins away from fighting Cotto or any other big name. Margarito needs to win his way back to fighting the elite guys at Welterweight. Paul Williams is the one that needs to be thrown into the mix of these big fights.
Re: After seeing cotto SSM again i change my pick..
I agree that Margarito should wait his turn and get in line. I think Cotto right now should continue to build his rep in fighting beatable opponents such as Hatton, Mayweather, Williams, and Cintron (I am by no means dismissing the talents of those guys, nor saying they don't have a chance). Oscar should get his money grubbing hands out of Cotto's popularity and Cotto should not give in to the temptation. But, money talks, bullspit walks, so that match is inevitable.
Re: After seeing cotto SSM again i change my pick..
Guys are we all still forgetting that cotto gets rocked quite often and has had alot of big scares. Torres, abdullaev and corley. They all are no where as powerful or skillful as delahoya is and they hurt cotto badly. So lets just not get unreal and act like delahoya has no chance, it would be a hard fight ;)

That was at 140, I havent really seen Cotto rocked since he went Welter, Cotto seems to be much more sturdier and full at 147.

Delahoya may lose to Cotto, but know way does he get beaten to submission. DLH like Mosely are hardnosed throwback fighters that would never get demolished. Both have all time chins and hearts. I mean against Mosely, Cotto finally decided midway through the 9th that he wasnt gonna break Mosely's will or heart and was no longer willing or eager to take anymore of Moselys punishment to deliver his own. The same would happen against Delahoya he aint breakin, he might lose but he aint getting manhandled and smashed up
