Just throwing a name out there...Lopez...

Since i feel like alot of the Cotto debate is due to the fact that not alot of individuals have not seen the earlier Cotto fights i think i needed to make a topic about up and coming fighters that i think people really need to watch as of right now. these fighters will be champions in the future and people need to see their earlier fights to appreciate what they will do in the future.

One name that pops into my mind is Juan Manuel Lopez.

It is said that by early to mid next year he will get his title shot against Ponce De Leon so keep an eye out for him

any one else know of any good young fighters??
not just up and coming but i mean really superstar potential??

Lopez is a good young talent. But if they put him in there with De Leon, I think he'll get knocked the fuck out. It's to soon. De Leon is no joke. He ruined Bautista. Turned him into Bumtista.

you'll be very surprised when that fight actually happens. first of all Lopez is no Bautista. Every one including HBO made such a big deal about Bautista and then fed him to the wolves. if you look back at one point in this forum before they fought i said it that Bautista was not ready for De Leon.
but i'll say it again befor this fight Lopez will beat De Leon. i wish a fight between Lopez and Bautista will happen before the De Leon fight does.
any ways have you seen Lopez fight since his first fight??
maybe some amature fights as well??
if not then i guess you just proved my point about the topic.

I seen Lopez fight about 6 or 7 times. And if he fights De Leon in 2008 he'll leave the ring on a stretcher. Beating a Hugo Dianzo (Lopez best opponent beaten) does not prepare you for a murderous puncher like De Leon. Keep in mind, I'm not knocking Lopez. I think he's an outstanding prospect. And I can easily see him being champion. But it won't be against De Leon in 2008.

I think Juan Manuel Lopez is for real, very dangerous right handed south paw, flashy and powerful.

Lopez is one of the hottest prospects out there but all this talk of facing Ponce is premature. Daniel would KTFO him out early imo.And yes I have seen Lopez fight but he is not ready for a murderous puncher like Ponce. If you are not 5 inches taller than Ponce or are not going to try to outbox him,than you're getting KTFO imo.
