Posts beginning with the words: "ITS OFFICIAL"
Okay, it's time for my by-daily rant about things that annoy me on the forum, and today's topic is posts beginning with the words "ITS OFFICIAL".
My main problem is that 99% of these threads is the fact that there is nothing official about them. For example "ITS OFFICIAL, FLOYD WOULD DESTROY COTTO". There is nothing official about it you arrogant prick, its just your opinion and means nothing more than anyone else on this forum. In fact, as you feel that your posts are more important that you need to put them in CAPS, your opinion probably means less than than most others' on this forum.
Okay, so even when they do have some sort of source behind them, it's often the fighter's cousin's wife says that Boxer A is willing to fight Boxer B on a certain date. For the record, that isn't official either.

I'm a particular fan of the threads whereby the quoting of someone elses opinion is utilised as fact and cannot be disputed (Larry Merchant, Manny Steward, some idiot who writes for a site you've never heard of et al) :banghead:

And steelie we might be thinking of the same thing...
A post that went something like.
"its official Larry Merchant thinks that the oscar versus manny fight is not impossible,." ???

I write for this site (on occasion ;D) but just because I'm a writer it doesn't make my opinion more valid. I'm as biased as everyone else ;D
I also don't even find the TV pundits that insightful. They might be to the average Joe but when you think about it, we all debate Boxing all day every day. Now, I'm not saying we know everything about everything but simply being here does give you a more balanced view of things.
Many a time I've read through a thread and changed my mind depending on the brilliance of the replies 8)

Haha I know mate It does get on my tits at times. Another that pisses me off it a statement turned into a question because the author is just posting gossip like.... "Vernon Forrest vs Ricardo Mayorga A Trilogy ??"
