Evans won.
Whats next for him?
That was easily the worst UFC PPV this year. Best matchups on paper and in the actual fights were Silva - Alexander and Fisher - Edgar. Just had to say that...
Anyways, Evans is pretty much second rate. He just doesn't have any real fire. He is heralded as some great wrestler but his stuff is all lay and pray and he still can't advance position on the ground.
He's not going to do anything in such a stacked division unless he keeps getting guys like Bisping to keep him afloat. He can make some entertaining matchups with some of the other TUF guys but to be honest there aren't a lot of top guys I'd favor him against. Rogan mentioned Forrest. Forrest at this point would destroy him. He keeps winning but he's yet to win impressively. The Salmon KO was nice but the fight itself was dull.
I was hoping he would make a statement of some sort and thought the stars were lining up for him to do so but it never really clicked.
I hope they feed him, excuse me, match him up with Thiago.
Bisping was/is good too. Have to look at who he beat sometimes it was a tough opponent in Bisping I think.
Evens has good hands but doesn't carry enough power to really be exciting and he had other oppotunities to go for submision but didn't even try. That being said Bisping looked scared to let his hands go but and at the end I was waiting for him to get another F@#ked up decision. I can't see how even one judge could give it to him I think someone is payed off. ???
I know this sounds a little crazy, but regardless of the outcome, I still feel Bisping has a brighter future. (It's more of a gut feeling). BUT, with that said, Evans gives everyone a very hard time. It's kinda like he's a bad match up for everyone out there. He's strong enough not to get beat, but not great enough to be impressive.
Rashad Evans, how boring is he as a fighter? OK so.rashad did NOTHING to convice me he wont this fight. He got a few takedowns (that Mike stood up from...also got one himself) but did NOTHINg with them. he was out struck, got winded by knees, was tired and his takedown attempts in the 3rd round look more like acts of desperation.
IMO Mike won that fight. It wasn't a fantastic fight but out of the two of them Mike WILL get better. His TD defence has imrpoved so uch. I think Rashad has peaked and that right there last night is as much as Rashad has to offer as a fighter.
Why oh why does Rashad put 'sugar'in front of his name? I don't get it? Sugar is associated with sweet boxers such as ray leonard or ray robinson. Rashads striking was seriously crap and Mike outstrick him. He even got better shots on Rashad from on his back than what rashad landed on top.
I presonally think that was a bullshit decision.
if Mike continues to improve and move down to 185 (which lets be honest he should) he is going to be a serious handful for anyone.
Rashad will just carry on. Such a boring fighter.
Hi Munky & friends
Bispings hands looked sloppy, he kept dropping them hands and getting caught by Evan's quick bursts which btw he couldn't sustain. I was most impressed by MB's improved ground defence, sure he got taken down and either stood up again or neutralised Evans. I was surprised at how gassed evans looked, Bisping looked tense in the 1st but loosened up (too much?) in the 2nd.
I must say I wanted to Mike to batter him when all the wifebeaters started with the 'U-S-A' rubbish.
Re-match 8)
Munk, you hit the nail right on the head. He does nothing.... he doesn't really win, doesn't really lose.... he's just.....in there. Like I said, strong enough not get beat, but not good enough to win. BORINGGGG.
