Ashley Theophane - fighting abroad....

Hi guys,

Was just thinking I'd plunge your brains to see if any of you had heard anything about Theophane leaving Britain, or whether his fight on Friday night in St Lucia was just a one-off thing, because I'm sure he was meant to be fighting for a British title sometime?

He was on the bill where Joey Abell beat Teke Oruh and William Joppy made a comeback, and it said on fightnews that his dad is from St Lucia, so was this just a keep busy fight for him?

The opposition wasn't special, and he kept the career ticking over anyway.

He retired Bosworth in an elimanator if I remember rightly. He was impressive that night. I like what I've seen of him. It was weird because Colin Lynes got himself a shot at Morrison before him, but I think he should be pretty high on the list now for British Title shot. Maybe his handlers want to keep him away from Lynes, who is just looking better and better. I haven't heard anything for a while. After the Bosworth stoppage, he wrote in to Boxing News magazine and was pretty elated with his performance. He was certain he'd be challenging Morrison too, so honestly, I'm not sure what has happened there.
