Pascal-Miranda heats up!

After being at ringside in Florida and calling out Edison Miranda at his most recent fight; it looks like Pantera is ready to return the favour for Jean Pascal’s December 7th fight in Montreal . Miranda will be a keen ringside observer as the war of words heats up between the two in what looks to be an eventual 2008 matchup. “He claims that I laughed when I challenged him, said Pascal via press release. “I did so because I was thinking that if he is not afraid to fight me, then following our match-up fans will stop calling him ‘The Panther’, and will begin to call him ‘The Kitten.’

I've only seen Pascal fight once, I think it was against Ikeke on FNF fights a while back. He looked all right, kind of like a poor mans RJJ in that his defense is based largely on his reflexes. He through some good combo's though, I remember that sticking out. After all the hype I'd heard about him I wasn't all that impressed with his performance, not that there was anything wrong with his performance necessarily, I just expected a bit more from him. He certainly seems to be a damn good prospect. Miranda will be a great test for him. Unless Miranda's boxing skills have come a long way I can see Pascal outboxing him.

Tight. I would love to see these two go at it. Pascal is a good RJJ imitator, nothing like the original, but he tries. Great reflexes decent pop and good boxing skills vs. Miranda's crazy power and aggression. It will be one hell of a fight.

They will both be fighting on Jan 11th ESPN FNF to build this up.

It appears to be a good match up on paper. The winner will deserve a shot at Bute! (Who I also think both could beat)
