Should i be doing my exercises to failure? I don't really see a problem with it but i've heard it dows no good for you, so i was wondering are their any negatives to doing pushups, pulls, situps etc to failure or is that just a myth?

What do you want to get out of your exercise?
No i don't think its a good idea as you neglect technique, you may strain muscle tissue and generally i don't think it's good for mentality.
I'm mainly looking to increase my muscular endurance and as a side explosive strength. I haven't been doing my plyo pushups/ pullups to failure, but was considering starting that. So no one here does them to failure?
A better way is to do Dynamic Stretch to failure better feel less damage.
Thanks for the replies everyone, just did a quick google search for them. There doesn't seem to be too many for the upper body, do you have any suggestions or links for them? Thanks, also how do you cc a post? sorry still new at this posting :)
I've tried doing pushups until failure but it tires me out and gets my chest muscles feeling all stiff. I feel that it slows me down when I'm throwing punches.Quote:
