Why can't I send personal messages??

Why can't I send personal messages??

Since there's no help forum and the "help" section doesn't help me at all, can someone answer my question? I have no options for sending a private message. When I try to by clicking "new message" in the interface, I simply get a message saying "You are not allowed to send personal messages". Why?

I also do not get an option to, when clicking on someone's profile.

Someone should make a FAQ shouldn't they. This is common question by the way.

You won't be able to send pm's or access some of the other site features until you have 100 posts. I know it can be annoying for a lot of new members, but it's just a precaution against spammers, and trolls alike.

Well, ok, no wonder! Obviously I've been registered here for a little while, but have only been browsing and reading posts, until now. Indeed, I'm only now becoming familiar with how things are set up. You're right also, I have no idea why there's no FAQ as it would have saved both you and I the trouble. Thanx!
