Cotto Mosley did just over 400,000 buys-thoughts?
It's on boxing talk,Arum mentions it. Pacquiao MAB 2 did 350k. I'm pretty impressed by Cotto-SSM. I initially though it would be 500k but SSM has never been a massive star. For a young fighter,Cotto did dam good and hopefully his stock will keep on rising.

You have to understand this too...Novemebr was a big month for boxing...We had Calzaghe/Kessler....Vargas/Mayorga...and wasn't Mormeck/Haye PPV?.....With it being so close to the holiday season the average fan is not going to spend 200 on PPV's most just picked one...so0 that may have been a big factor...added with the Mosley not being a huge PPV draw and Cotto outside of the sport has little exposure.....Seems low to us for two fighters of that caliber but then again we are die hards

This is an Arum lie. Notice that HBO did not issue their usual press release.
An industry source told me that the fight did WAY less. A tad under 300K.
Previous Arum lies: He said that Margarito-Gomez did about 100K. It did 35K.
Arum said that Cotto-Judah did 225K. It actually did 180K.
I understand why Bob does that. It benefits Arum to make his fighter seem like more of a draw than he really is. He is trying to create a successful "brand". Kinda like when the record company buys back a bunch of their artists' cd's.
But you should not believe the Arum numbers. Only trust the industry nums.

Buy stats are available for your cable company...Though I do agree they are a bit inflated by some promoters they have to keep it in reason....

What complicates the accuracy of the reporting is the final rollup from all the RBOC's. For example, The initial nums for TWA was 2.15 mil. And then it rolled up to 2.4 mil.
The most accurate reports SHOULD be from the distributor (Time-Warner) or from an industry data source (AC Nielsen). The promoter is your LEAST reliable source.
The general perception, for example, is that Cotto-Mosley packed out MSG. In truth, there were tons of empty seats. When Shane fought Collazo, the arena was 60% EMPTY.
There are very few legitimate, consistent draws in the sport. Cotto isn't one of them.

Just shows how popular Oscar is OUTSIDE hardcore fans.
Between 400,000 and 200,000 - reported, taking into consideration DIOS DOMINICANO's post - seems to be the standard for ALL these PPVs.
Oscar hit 900,000 for Mayorga and 2 million for Floyd.

Well done :appl: for Cotto.
The kid's only 27 and has had this much success.
A ODLH draw he wont be as I don't think anyone will be, but the kids doing great numbers.

Don't know if all this is accurate but if it is then a :coolclick: for your efforts.
It seems that the UFC is still steamrolling most boxing PPV's then. I think 300,000 is an average PPV for them, with less than that being poor.
Re: Cotto Mosley did just over 400,000 buys-thoughts?
UFC are doing 1mil+ for the big shows, consistantly. Going off of those numbers I think Hatton v Mayweather may push the 1mil too.

dios dominicano, what's your source?
Re: Cotto Mosley did just over 400,000 buys-thoughts?
How do I get to 7 negatives for providing FACTS?
I don't understand how that little ratings system works. Can somebody please tell me how to give/get ratings?
I don't need the bullshit. I'll just head back to the HBO boards.
