Povetkin and Chambers hhave been confirmed to meet in their IBF-eliminator January 26th next year. Although the press release cited in the fightnews piece mentions Berlin as meeting halfway (Moscow/Philly), this must be considered a home advantage for Sauerland-boxer Povetkin. Also worth noting that the fight presumably will be on HBO.

I know there aren't too many people that do..but i kinda like chambers and look forward to the fight.
I'm with you. I'm excited to see this fight. Obviously Povetkin is for real, having beaten Byrd, and I like Chambers relaxed counterpunching and combination. I didn't see the Brock fight so I don't know if it was as close in reality as it was on the cards, but if Chambers struggled with Brock, he might have a tough time against Povetkin. It's an interesting matchup and I'm glad it's going to be on HBO instead of Showtime.
Don't like his chances in Germany though. I like Chambers and originally picked him to win this little tournament, but Pvetkin looks bloody good.Quote:

I like Chambers and he'll probably land the cleaner punches- unless Povetkin goes to the body consistently- but I just wonder if he'll do enough to win a decision, probably will just get outworked. At least he seemed to understand that after the Brock fight but whether he'll do anything about it is another question.

Povetkin is by far the busier of the two, POvetkin put's punches together theres just something about Eddie that I don't see it there. Almost like theres no fire burning there.... If POvetkin can fight his fight and stay busy like I've seen him do he's not gonna give Eddie time to take his shots.
Povetkin on the other hand shows that hes there to fight and hes there to make a statement.
