WHAT IF HE CAN'T FIGHT GOING BACKWARDS???
Hatton is great at coming forward we all know this he barges forward swinging wild at times throwing big hooks grappling and holding forcing the pace he goes on about his fitness over 12 rounds but is he as fit as Mayweather over 12.But the big question is can Hatton fight going backwards if he can't get Floyd on the ropes where he like's to bully his opponent and Floyd keeps him centre ring with the jab and great movement and then starts to force him back will Ricky be able to fight going backwards he aint used to been forced back but Floyd is used to fighting off the ropes.I would like your opinions guys
Re: WHAT IF HE CAN'T FIGHT GOING BACKWARDS???
He is not a defensive fighter so he does not need to and Floyd wont have the strengh to so......I dunno :-\ He could be totally useless fighting backwards for all we know ???

Please view rounds 8-12 of Hatton vs Collazo.
When stopped & pressed backwards...Hatton seemed confused & sloppy.

Along with questioning his reverse gear...I'm curious of how well he'll do with a ref that's active in the match. While I believe that many over exaggerate the amount of Hatton's holding as a tactic...I think that in this bout...it's a tactic that he'll need to exercise quite a bit against Floyd.
What if he's not allowed to?

Then it will be Gatti/Mayweather all over again.....period.
Re: WHAT IF HE CAN'T FIGHT GOING BACKWARDS???
Also Floyd went to 154lbs to fight Oscar who was the bigger, stronger harder punching man yet Floyd took his best and it was Floyd who stung Oscar on a few ocasions so perhaps he will be able to force Hatton back easier than people think and even force a stoppage.I don't know im just trying to cover all angles.

I think Floyd will tie him up as soon as he moves in anyway, so Ricky will have to use his strength to punch his way out and land the punched he intended to land beforehand.

I don't remember Floyd taking a flush punch really? He was too good with his defence.
Re: WHAT IF HE CAN'T FIGHT GOING BACKWARDS???
The amount of topics and people talking on here and everywhere just shows how big this fight is its brilliant for the sport and the fans lets just hope its as good as we expect it to be.

Not sure if you do too much drinkin or not...but after a certain point of boozing I tend to get a little sloppy & confused...it plays out in my actions & you can generally tell by the expression on my face.
Hatton's body langauge & expression weren't far off from mine on a drunken Sat-dee night. ;D
Re: WHAT IF HE CAN'T FIGHT GOING BACKWARDS???
I cant see Mayweather fighting and aggressive fight and pressuring Ricky to the ropes. If he does, Ricky will spin out or hold.
Re: WHAT IF HE CAN'T FIGHT GOING BACKWARDS???
As Wacko has pointed out Hatton looked sloppy when forced back by Colllazo now at the time Ricky just scraped through and got the win now a win is a win.But then Mosely fought Collazo now i know Collazo hurt his hand but Mosely handled him with ease so perhaps Collazo were'nt that good. And you can bring the 5 weeks notice thing into question or the fact Hatton only trained for 7 week or whatever but alot of fighters only train 8 weeks and lets face it Collazo ain't no Floyd Mayweather so could we learn alot from the Collazo fight to see how the Mayweather fight will go ??? Just a question guys
Re: WHAT IF HE CAN'T FIGHT GOING BACKWARDS???
The problem with this is that I just don't see it to Mayweather's advantage in fighting on the front foot. His forte is letting the opposition come in with clumsy shots, then counter to devastating effect. I don't think Mayweather will want to push Hatton back too much, just let him attack and pick him off at will until Hatton is almost finished, then he might push forward, if that's the way things go.
