im new to boxing and i feel dumb asking but what and how do i shadow box

It is punching in the air, infront of a mirror so u can see where your leaving yourself open and how ur punches look...
a couple of things to try, just go through what you've been taught in the gym, checking you are covering with your shoulder, turning from your waist, returning to correct stance and guard etc. second thing to add in are defensive moves, imagine someone in front of you throwing punches, work on blocking and slipping those punches etc You can do this stationary, moving round or in front of the mirror so you can see any mistakes.
it does feel awkward when you start off but stick with it ;)
