The real Floyd Mayweather
BE: You're 30, so I imagine you're closer to the end of your boxing career than the beginning. After boxing, what's next for you?
MAYWEATHER: It's to keep elevating my business enterprise. I'm going to continue to elevate my business portfolio—inside and out of boxing.
BE: Can you give some examples of ventures you're in or want to get into that aren't boxing-related?
MAYWEATHER: Mayweather Promotions is heavily involved in concert promotions. We recently co-promoted the Beyoncé tour with Alan Haymon. Mayweather Promotions is also co-promoting the Chris Brown tour. The night of my fight, the same night we're promoting Chris Brown in Detroit. So essentially this Saturday, I'll be making money in two places at the same time: in the ring during the fight and monetizing receipts for the Chris Brown show in Detroit.
BE: Sounds like you've had a heck of a year.
MAYWEATHER: I've had a remarkable year. After my fight on Saturday, I'll be the second highest paid athlete in all sports, right behind Tiger Woods. I'm over A-Rod. If I'm not mistaken, he made about $30-something million this year.

I'd heard about his music label and thought he was going to blow his dough in record time but maybe he's going to be OK after all.

I'm not sure about this one. Oscar still has to be above Floyd. Oscar made something like 45 million off his fight with Floyd, and he must have made more cash off the other Golden Boy fights.
Re: The real Floyd Mayweather
Not to smart to be boasting about it. Especially when he also advertises he likes stripclubs. Hanging out in those kind of places with everyone knowing how much money you make, makes you a big target for lawsuits or blackmail, just ask ODH. ;)
Re: The real Floyd Mayweather
30 million doesnt buy class
Hes a rich prick :)
Re: The real Floyd Mayweather
Floyd Mayweather is a clever man who knows how to sell fights and make big money.

Oscar only fought the once this year and I imagine PBF is making a lot more off this fight than Oscar.
Re: The real Floyd Mayweather
I saw him in person. He's a braggart when it comes to his skills and rightly so, but in truth, he's actually a nice guy. At the presser for the fight with ODH he hung around well after most of the cameras were gone, in fact, I had to leave before he did. A latino kid came up to him with a glove signed by Oscar and asked for his signature and at first he refused because De La Hoya's was on it. When the kid told him he didn't have another he took the glove and signed it anyway. I'm sorry, that was class to me.
I do admit, though, the money-flashing thing is bothersome.
