Does Roy need to work a little more on leg stamina?
I've been watching his last two fights, and even his third fight with Tarver, and in all of them he still has amazing hand speed as did old Ali, Mosley, and other top level speedsters, but like Ali at least his footspeed/work is nowhere to be found. Now that Roy doesn't have that power he use to I think he should focus more on cardio because that is what helped Hopkins stay so good is that he could fight at such a fast pace, and inversely Roy lost to Glen Johnson IMO and Tarver because he could maintain that pace half because he was gone shy, but also because he didn't have the legs to stay away and get in effectively against Johnson at least.
Re: Does Roy need to work a little more on leg stamina?
Bt Hopkin's fast pace, I don't mean he throws hundreds of punches, but he thinks a very fast fight, and because he runs so much outside the ring he uses footwork almost all the time in there which tires an opponent out and keeps Hopkins off the ropes.
Re: Does Roy need to work a little more on leg stamina?
Yes, Roy's legs have looked shot in his last few fights. That is why he goes to the ropes and covers up more than ever before. His hand speed is still amazing though and he still has damn good pop on his punches. He could try to get his legs back through some leg conditioniong, but once they are shot like that, I don't think they can ever be the same. Nonetheless I think he's gonna dominate and KO Trinidad for sure.

roy needs to work on getting younger

Sadly enough your legs are the one thing you can not work on....

How so? I am just curious? I've always been fighting heavier than I should optimally, but I can tell that the more road work I put in, and hte more explosive weight excersizes I do preparing the more endurance my legs have, doing laterals for many rounds help to.

Talking about once they go on a fighter mate....the legs are shot it is time to compensate with something else.....
