Acting silly before big fights
I find myself singing Blue Moon all this week....and I'm puertorrican.
Just can't help it. It's driving my wife crazy. Funny thing is yesterday she started singing it herself....and she ain't even a boxing fan.
I'll probably keep at it till fight night.
Any of you start doing funny stuff like this before big fights?
Re: Acting silly before big fights
LOL, CC for that. That is funny ;D. I pace alot on the day of a big fight, it drives my girlfriend crazy, and my dogs get all weird as I will be mumbling like Larry Merchant a couple of hours before a fight and it makes the dogs whine. Also I chew my nails alot and make them bleed. I was a lunatic before Pavlik/Taylor, but I think tomorrow is going to be worse. Weird stuff.
Re: Acting silly before big fights
Ha.. CC back. Nice to know I'm not alone. But damn take it easy, no need to bite your fingers off LOL.
Re: Acting silly before big fights
I get nervous, but the only time I did anything was before the first fight I saw with Prince Nas I was so nervous/annoyed I felt like I turned hypoglycemic for a minute. I needed to eat something because I felt weak.
During the Pavlik/Taylor fight I unexpectedly stood up and shouted "Boom!" when Taylor knocked Pavlik down. My baby was sleeping and everything- it was kind of embarassing.
Re: Acting silly before big fights
I get nervous before a fight then i end up that nervous about my fighter i end up dieing for a poo so i end up trying to get it out in a minute between rounds hoping i dont miss a knockdown or knockout lol ;D

I know when Lennox Lewis "beat" McCall in the second fight, I was so happy I was LOLOLOL so hard I had tears running down my eyes. I don't know who looked more whacked out of their mind, me or McCall  As far as my fingers, they'll be a mess before Hatton even gets into the ring ;D
Re: Acting silly before big fights
Imagine what it must be like for Hatton and Mayweather, with all that money on the line and legacy.
Re: Acting silly before big fights
i moved the coffee table away from the couch just in case, dont want another beer+infant+carpet incident ever again. :o
Re: Acting silly before big fights
Wow you guys really get into these fights i bet it would be crazy getting a bunch of people from the board together to watch one of these huge events. I actually have never really cared if one fighter won that bad that it affects me at all. I have my picks and predictions but you could catch me getting up and excited for both fighters sometimes...
Re: Acting silly before big fights
It can be difficult watching a fighter who's career you've followed from the beginning in a massive fight. I was so nervous watching JC against Kessler I couldn't enjoy it at all. Not that bothered who wins Saturday, just looking forward for a tough fight with two genuine world class competitors.

Azul luna....Les serrucho yo posicion solo....
Now if we could just get Tito Puente Jr to sing it for us :D
Everyone loves blue moon,,,one of those songs you like but just don't want to admit to it
Re: Acting silly before big fights
I tend to watch at least the boxers last 2 fights. Sometimes if time permits 3.
I make my girl become my personal data center I feed her all the info and explain to her how I think the fight will play out....
When Margarito fought Williams she fell asleep mid-way thru my analysis... I woke her the fuck up and told her she sucked as a co-host. ;D
Re: Acting silly before big fights
When Lewis KO'd Rahman with that punch you could hear from a mile away with head phones on...I remember jumping up becoming like a possesed man who just totally forgot where the hell he was and yelled in my father in-laws face...."Yeah what now Mother F*****.......How you feeling on your back HAS BEEN RAHMAN!!!"..... :D
My father in law is not a boxing fan nor does he know anything about boxing :(...and he never once made a commment about the fight :-[......
When Lewis KO'd Tyson I yelled at my wife..."TELL ME YOUR GONNA EAT MY KIDS NOW!!!"........
It was the last time I was allowed to watch boxing in the living room :-[

:coocoo: Damn Khan :coocoo: I thought I had issues ::** But truth be told, when my boy-o Lewis k.o.'d Rahman I pretty much did the same thing. One of the happiest boxing moments for me, though I was a wreck before that fight, considering how #1 went 8)

You know the football fans that wear the jersey, foam finger and have the ritual they do during every one of their fgavorite teams game....Thats me with boxing...
And don't be mistake it's not like I was up in my wifes face nose to nose...I was screaming at at her across the house.....
As for my father in law.....I do stuff like that to him all the time....With all the misery he has given me over the years any chance I get to mess with him I take
