Should I give my son a blanket party?
Saturday, the guy who was supposed to have the Hatton/Mayweather ppv said due to a family emergency he might not be able to do it. The whole thing was left up in the air with the comment "we still might be able to do it." So I tell my son I "may" be watching the fight, but it probably won't happen. Anyway my son goes out for the night and I stay at home and watch some dumb movie (ws prohibited from having the ppv at my place.) So sunday morning I'm having a cup of coffee and my son comes down and I ask him if he knew who won the fight. He says "Yeah, I watched it with my girlfriend's dad last night." I was like WTF. I was speechless.

He will be 21 on 12/23, I'm a mere 57. And, yes, a blanket party is what was done in the movie Full Metal Jacket. You can also give one by hiding behind a door and when the unfortunate victim comes through the door throw the blanket over his head and pummel him. Really though, he's a good kid, a junior in college and his dad's best friend and most knowledgeable boxing and mma fan. He probably wasn't thinking of his old dad last saturday. When your going to turn 21 the last thing on your mind is your old man.
