Looking back at old controversial fights (Season 2) DLH-Trinidad
OK, time to start this up again.
This thread is about going back and scoring old controversial fights round-by-round.
Just like the first time we did this thread, the rules are very simple:
There is only one rule, DON'T POST IN HERE WITH AN OPINION UNLESS YOU HAVE AN EXACT ROUND-BY-ROUND SCORECARD TO BACK UP YOUR ARGUMENT.
Feel free to go back to this thread to see how it's done:
http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxing_fo...c,41548.0.html
The fights we looked at last time were:
Morales-Barrera I
Lewis-Holyifeld I
Whitaker-De La Hoya
Leonard-Hagler
Mayweather-Castillo I
De La Hoya-Quartey
Whitaker-Chavez
Taylor-Hopkins I
Pacquiao-Marquez
Vargas-Wright
Jones-Tarver I
I will make a point to try to select fights that are available on youtube. If not, we'll try to find a download link.
I will be posting the first fight momentarily.....

No explosion in the first round at all, I give it too Tito for being the aggressor, everytime De La Hoya through a punch or even faked like he was throwing a punch the crowd would cheer and the announcers would exaggerate the punch, De La Hoya had alot of star power
Re: Looking back at old controversial fights (Season 2) DLH-Trinidad
Lampley: "Hard right Hand by De AL Hoya" JAJAJAJAJA OMG he is on drugs

CC dude. I disagree lightly because I gave Tito 7-5, but I am so proud that you did not fall into that bullshit that Oscar won the first 9 rounds (many commercial boxing fans)

I take no notice of the Commentary bro, the 2nd round was close i could easily see Tito getting that one, but CC back bro.

I think its impossible to be a landslide. Because without a doubt Tito won last 3 rounds comfortably and he at least won 3 out of the 1st 9 rounds.
Re: Looking back at old controversial fights (Season 2) DLH-Trinidad
I made a thread on this fight where I was not trying to say who won, just trying to show that this fight was not a landslide and was not a robbery. It was a damn clost fight with some really close rounds.
I also gave the seccond round to Tito but had the first round even so that makes it 115-114 for Tito. I have no problem with one point eather way though.
Re: Looking back at old controversial fights (Season 2) DLH-Trinidad
At first I had this fight 115-113 DLH but when I watched it a second time I had it a 114 draw. Oscar let himself down in this one. Was his for the taking
Re: Looking back at old controversial fights (Season 2) DLH-Trinidad
This fight is probably the biggest misconception in boxing history. ESPN did a poll " The biggest robbery in boxing history" and this fight was the number 1 pick which was astonishing.

Alot of people only watch highlights of this fight, or go by someone else's opinion thats the impression i have always got anyway. You want to talk about robberies how about these.
Whitaker vs Ramirez 1
Whitaker vs Chavez
Lewis vs Holyfield 1
Fenech vs Nelson 1
Sturm vs Oscar
Hearns vs Leonard 2
Ottke vs Reid
These fights i consider 100 percent robberies.
