Hide returns Dec. 23!

Former two-time WBO heavyweight champion Herbie Hide (40-4, 39 KOs) is going for gold again. On December 23rd in Halle (Saale) "the Dancing Destroyer" faces unbeaten Mikhail Nasyrov (18-0, 13 KOs) for the vacant WBC International cruiserweight belt. Rudolf Kraj had relinquished the belt after his last successful defense on December 6th because he is fighting an elimination bout for the world championship next. To become world cruiserweight champion is exactly what Herbie is aiming for as well. "I would have loved to strip the belt from Kraj by beating him in the ring," said Hide.

this is prob the weight he should of been at all along..

the trouble with hide at heavyweight was a fragile chin and pysche. who knows. he might yet win a title at cruiserweight

CC mate i totally agree. I remember seeing him fight Vitali and getting sparked out with a hard jab.
I think Herbie could do well at Cruiser, altho he may have left his run too late. Imagine if he win a title and looked good, we could see Hide v Haye. That'd be interesting.

And he won the 1st round against Vitali in impressive fashion as well. Alot of people thought Hide took a dive in Vitali fight but i don't Hide just has one of the weakest chin's in HW history.

Hide comeback fighter of the year 2008....

I remember Bowe said that Hide hit him harder than anybody had ever hit him. Im sure i remember Bowe saying that does anyone else ??

Well I felt Cruiser is a better weight for him than heavy so I'm pleased. He'd be a decent match for Enzo, but I don't see it happeneing too soon.

Maybe he did. Hide did well in that fight apart from being knocked down seven times he put up a good show, but was just too small.

He's always really been a cruiserweight anyway... :)
