Could Daniel Ponce De Leon hang with either Marquez or Vazquez?

We all know that Ponce De Leon has great power, and throws tons of punches, and has shown a good chin too IMO. But could he beat either Rafael Marquez or Israel Vazquez? I don't think he can. I mean maybe, but I feel that they have every bit the power he has, plus way more skill and boxing ability. And possibly speed too. Less they ruin one another, I see either whippin Ponce De Leon, but I'd still love to see the fight, see if Ponce could pull it off. How bout you all?

I'd love to see these fights as well. I think Ponce should Rematch Caballero first tho, to see if he really has improved. Daniel has great power, but his boxing skills may not be up to beatin a Marquez or Vasquez. It'd be fun to see him try tho.

Yep. I think so too.

I think he may have some kind of chance against Vasquez, only due to the fact Vasquez will go to war with anyone. Vasquez could outbox him all night, but I think he may try to out macho De Leon and brawl with him. I still think he wins but thats the only scenario I can see De Leon winning. Marquez would just outbox him and make him look bad.

IF they both come out to box I think they both out box him comfortably.
IF they both come out to trade shots I think De Leon sparks both of them out.

I'd give him a better shot against Rafa just cause Rafa's legs didn't look that great last time out.

I still think they'd both beat him, Vazquez would put it on him IMO.

Buu-koo respect Mick.....But Rafa can actually adjust and break Ponce apart.Penolosa put it to Daniel Very effective.Vasquez a true glory free swinger but I dont see him getting the shot..I.E Marquez Wins Vasquez trilogy
Deleon looked bad last fight.Boxing in and out,Offsetting his Aggresive tempo is His cryptonit..Love his passion and one punch power, but I think they both beat DeLeon.
as crazy as it may sound I think Vasquez can also outslug Deleon...

I think he could hang with both of them, I still have doubts about both Marquez and Vazquez's durability especially after their recent wars.

If they slug it out with him they could well end up getting stopped although I agree they are both in a different class if they could restrain themselves and box.

Personally though Steve Molitor is the man in this division. A super slick, intelligent defensive fighter I think he beats all three of them.

De Leon hasn't been in the wars that the other two have though. How much do you think Vazquez and Marquez will have left after their third fight?

They will be like Castillo and Coralles in my opinion, and won't be the same again.

I really think deleon is over rated, ive only seen him a couple of times but when i saw him on the pbf undercard...he was terrible.

I don't think ponce will ever fight rafa or isreal. I can see him moving up to featherweight before he fought either one.

I give ponce a chance to hang with anyone due to his power and he isn't chinny so even if someone is outboxing him he is still dangerous til the final bell. I think vasquez and marquez are just in a whole different level ponce won't be in anytime soon. I think ponce will be a featherweight sooner or later though, but a rematch with caballero is what he should be after. If not that then a rematch with penalosa.

Rains,why wouldn't Ponce fight them? I don't really see the rationale behind your thinking there?

I think he has a chance v both,especially at this stage in theri careers.However,I'd still favour them both over him because they are just far more skilled and alot faster with their punches. If Rafa used a bot of lateral movement and his jab,he would bust Ponce up REAL bad. If Isreal could get inside and bang away like he does,then ditto.

However,I have a hard time counting Ponce out completely because of his power.That's always going to be his equaliser.
