I still reckon he's in line for a spring bout with Scott Harrison, who is apparently dry clean and on the wagon. What odds an arthur win against him you reckon?

Yeah, I'd probably agree with you....but unless the WBO forces him into a fight with a mandatory who is a big puncher, do you see Warren letting him in with one unless its megabucks?
Re: Arthur sticks to present weight
Scott harrison needs to get on his back, I rekon he would take him.

Well super Warren wont put Arther in with a big puncher unless the WBO JOKE allow him to enter the ring in a TANK!!!!
Re: Arthur sticks to present weight
Weather Warren would want The Amazing Alex Arthur to fight a heavy hard handed boxer is a question in mind, but after his next bout surely Kevin Mitchell will have a pop at him. After all he'll be the next mandatory challenger. That would be a great domestic battle would'nt it?Personally i'd think Mitchell would do a number on him if their get it on.
Re: Arthur sticks to present weight
I thought he was due to fight Joan Guzman. Alex would beat Harrison and Mitchell, he is a decent fighter, if managed correctly he could be a world champion.;)

Nah I disagree. I think given the opportunity, Mitchell would finish off Arthur. Dark Lord Al is right, as soon as Arthur goes in there with Guzman its time to wave goodbye to any aspirations of world class.
Re: Arthur sticks to present weight
How would he know how hard it is to make weight, he fights so rarely lately?
On a side note:
Wayne McCullough was of the opinion that Scott Harrisson was stronger than Erik Morales.

Scott Harrison is a big lad at the weight he boxes - but as has been said he isnt a puncher, maybe Wayne McCullough's quote was referring to actual strength in the clinch and in general, it has been many times that although big, Harrison is not heavy handed.
As has also been said on the thread, Arthur has a very questionable chin (ala Gomez) and the more he battles to lose the weight, the more open he is to being stopped by a "non puncher". Arthur's problem is that if he moves up a weight, he too isnt regarded as a puncher, which will see no effect at a higher weight.

McCullough was indeed referring to Harrison's ability to over power him in the clinches and toe to toe encounters. I'm sure you personally are aware, although punches are the essence of boxing and what stops fights, physicality is what contributes most to fatigue and stamina issues in late rounds.

Absolutely mate - as you know there is nothing worse, when in the later rounds and the fight is close on the cars, you have to find that extra energy to convince the judges, and if youve had tough previous rounds and the energy sapping clinches and close quarter work, then it can be difficult

An there's nothing more frustrating than a round where you want to throw it all but there's a strong guy holding you trying to stop you getting your distance and getting a combination off!!
