No Contest
What does everyone think about the fights back in day.Meaning do you think it would be better or worse if fights going the distance without a K.O. would be ruled a No Contest.
Me for one I think with all of the bullshit going on with men and women getting robbed by flat out stupid judges. This would be a good thing and bring us back to what this sport was about. The Last Man Standing.

Re: No Contest
Bad idea.
And not a chance in the world it would happen.

Re: No Contest
'No Contest' went on to become what we know as a 'Draw'.
Now 'No Contest' is used for fights that end before the end of the 4th round and alos for when fighters test positive among other things.

Re: No Contest
ok sorry I mean No decision

Re: No Contest
Those no desicions can be dodgy.
I mean it's WBC rules that the victim of a clash of heads that results in a cut gets vengence by his opponent loosing a point. If it happens in the first 4 rounds or something.
Or maybe not. LMAO. I can't remember.
I hate draws though. No fight should ever be scored a draw. It's a complete let down and a waste of time IMO.

Re: No Contest
Aww I thought this was gonna be a thread about me...I guess you are referring to those old 20 round plus fights that end due to exhaustion? I dont know how fights become no decision, maybe the judges werent paying attention? Your theory on only ko victories would turn boxing into a joke. Guys who really have no skill could wear down skilled boxers just by losing rounds and then go for the kill once they tire. That kind of reminds me of Gladiator style, 2 men enter one man leaves. Thats not the sweet science. If your into just knockouts you should check out the bare knuckle underground fights...thats right up your alley.

Re: No Contest
Yes but didn't boxing start from two guys beating the hell out of each other. Then someone said "Hey this hurts maybe we should use gloves" hence Marquis of Queensbury. To me this whole sweet science thing happened with boxers who couldn't punch worth a damn so they ran around the ring while throwing punches hence once again "hit and not get hit".I say screw it get it back to what started this.Keep all of the present rules, get rid of the B.S. running and holding. Rule the decisions a No Decision and maybe people will start fighting a little bit more.

Re: No Contest
The first forms of boxing were to the death, should they bash each other to death? They started off just sitting in front of each other taking turns bashing each other in the face. That gets kind of boring after awhile IMO.

Re: No Contest
So I guess a fight like Morales-Barrera I shouldn't have gone to the judges scorecards, it should have continued until one of them collapsed in the ring, and probably died. Sounds like a real plan.
