Who watches sports in HD?

I'm curious as to how things happen around the rest of the US, and the world..

I was reminded of this today when i watched the HBO re-run of the PBF/Hatton fight that i had recorded on my DV-R. It was in HD..

For example.. i ordered the PBF/Hatton fight, and it wasn't in HD, which i think is completely ridiculous. $55 and no HD..
You can watch thousands upon thousands of sporting events, sitcoms etc, you name it in HD, but not something purchased that should not even be questioned to be in HD.

I know that it's mainly contract issues because I remember last year the Super Bowl wasn't going to be in HD which is unbelievable because at least 2 of the 4 regular season games that are televised each week were in HD.. but there were temporary contracts signed and the Superbowl was in hi-def, and now everything is all set and all football is in hi-def.. BUT apparently things are not completely squared away (going back to the fight)..

Does anyone else have problems like this in there area??

I gots me directv and I got the whole nfl package crap doo da in HD and what not I also watch all the movie channels in HD not too mention my hi def dvds geez I'm HD'd out

For some reason, i think direcTV had the rights to the Mayweather PPV, so if you ordered it you may have gotten it.

But yeah, my buddy that lives a minute or two away has the nfl ticket which is my favorite thing ever.. and i have an HBO package on digital cable.

Once you get used to it, it's hard to watch an event that isn't in HD, sad to say.

that is why I love directv although I think it looks stupid the way the commercials have the stupid borders that say espnhd

Agreed..

Especially with all of the expensive TV's that are threatened by "screen burn".. I have a plasma and i don't want ESPNHD on the sides of my TV permanently.
