1. Stop trying to fight fighters that have already been softened up. ODH fought Vargas, after Tito softened him up, he then fought Mayorga after Tito softened him up, now he is might fight Hatton after Mayweather soften him up.
2. Vernon Forrest is a good choice. He is a credible fighter who is looking for a payday. Vernon will get up for this fight.
3. After Forrest, fight Cotto in the fall. Then rematch Floyd early 2009.
4. Use Manny Steward as your trainer.
I don't think Oscar wants to get on top of anything except GBP.
He is only interested in cash cow fights.
I don't think that titles are important, PPV sales are, and Vernon wouldn't be adding
much. That's why he's considering Hatton even though there is no weight that would be
even close to equal ground and there is no title on the line, Hatton brings PPV buys.
He's still at the top as far as I'm concerned. He put up a MUCH better performance against Floyd than anyone else has since Castillo and miles better than Ricky Hatton.
He lost to the p4p best by a split decision. He's still right at the very top as far as I'm concerned and only just outside the p4p rankings.
I'd have both him and Mosely in my top 20 and maybe fighting to get in the top 15.
He's still a hugely tough opponent for anybody out there at 147 and 154.
Hatton brings pay per view buys and great dishonor to ODH. Credible boxing fans see through this. To fight someone that has recently been KOED by a person of lesser power and size is pushing it.
I am not disagreeing above. But surely, whilst he is a future HOF, ODH is not amongst the creme de la creme of today. The creme de la creme is made up of Mayweather, Pacqaiou, Marquez and Hopkins. What these fighters have in common, are recent victories over very tough opponents.Quote:

I don't think so. He beat a 39 year old Tarver and a 37 year old Wright. Neither fighter is relevant to their divisions any more.
Give Oscar credit, he may have lost his last fight but it was a split decision to the world's best fighter in his prime.
Last time Hopkins fought a prime fighter he went 0-2 and put on such negative performances in both that everyone urged him to retire.
Oscar is only one win away from shooting right back up the p4p rankings again unlike Hopkins imo he's still competitive enought to do it.
Oscar is not getting back on top of the game as a boxer....He is pretty much one step below the elite now....Not gate keeper or anything...
Best way to describe it I guess is B level elite?
