Oleg Platov

Watched Oleg Platov v Danny Williams and have to say that Oleg was weak willed and very dirty in that fight. He deliberately head butted, back handed, punched on the break and was looking for a way out of the fight. It may have been the first time that he was cut but shows you the character of the fighter. I hope Danny finishes the job if they are silly enough to have a rematch. Platov is a limited fighter who was exposed.

Also he was saved a defeat by a bias ref who stopped the fight before it went further than 4 rounds, so that it was a no decision, the cut was not worse than before.

I know very little about this fighter. In fact outside of the Williams fight I am ignorant as to is abilities or history. However, in that fight (which escaped me for nearly a month!) he came across as extremely poor and Williams was robbed.

Yeah - I thought he was small for a modern heavyweight .... had nice fast hands, but ran out of ideas when Williams was still in front of him as he has limited hitting power.

Worse than that was the fact he had no plan B, he panicked when he got cut and actually really started to look for a way out - I think when his complaining got no results he tried to foul his way out of the fight to get a DQ.

I think his limitations are evident when he had to search for the way out so early.

Oleg Platov is a joke. he is another European fight that has been nursed and when he steps up he will get smashed
