so i feel unoriginal that i was typing the EXACT same thing and then decided not to post it.
Re: The greatest idea ever.
Just tell us what your idea is before you attempt to promote it to a big television company.
It's highly unlikely that anybody here could be arsed to try and steal your idea and pitch it as theirs even if it was as you say the greatest idea ever.
It is much more likely however that we will laugh loudly at your idea and reveal to you how foolish it is, thus saving you the future humiliation of presenting a pitch in front of professionals. :)
Re: The greatest idea ever.
Well as they say, money talks... Think of your tv show idea as a 'business' idea, or a 'product' that needs to be sold to the public, and write a business plan...
When the tv station can look at the figures and see a nice tidy sum at the bottom underlined twice, they'll take notice.. Then if the show can justify that figure, they'll be all over you like flies on a summer turd.
No seriously, just buy a little book on writting business plans, their are hundreds out there, and work your idea into it.. I love doing this with all my idea's as it forces you to analyze all the fun little details that you don't usually think about in one big picture, but the further you get into it, the more exciting it gets...

Come on don't encourage him. It's bad enough he thinks he's found the greatest idea ever but to have gone to all the effort of writing out a plan and presenting a sales pitch just to have thrown straight into a bin unread would be soul destroying.
Far better he just tells us on here what is, we can all have a little giggle and he's spared the future disappointments and ridicule.
Remember that Don Omega had a great idea once after all :-X

Yeah, I forgot that, telling us the idea is step 1 :)

My idea is much better than a lot (but not all) of the shows they have on there. I am probably the only person to think of this and will likely be well off financially if one of these networks is wise enough to pick up my idea.
Of course, I will not be sharing my great idea because somebody will steal it. What I do need, however, is if anybody knows how I could present my idea to the network executives at Discovery Channel, Science Channel, Animal Planet, or any of those other networks that air the types of shows that I previously mentioned to please let me know how to do so.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Contacting the networks have a central office/building finding out the network you want to pitch it to and calling them and setting up an appointment is the best way to go about it....
One things for sure you need to be fully ready to answer all their questions and none of this answers with 'Uuummmms! and Ahhhhs....
Firm, with authority and you gotta sell it.
You also gotta have it on paper from layouts to outlines and all.
Good luck.
Re: The greatest idea ever.
There should be a goverment assisted office you can go to that will help you with ideas we got some out here (Australia) that are ran by the same people who run the social benifits they have outside professionals that can help with ideas and how you go about them correctly.
Claim it.
Go for it,you can do anything, pick a mountian go stake your flag in it.
Cant find a mountain, make up your own one and go stand on it, it works too ;)
