IF Cotto v Margarito gets made......
I'll sig bet any and everyone on this forum that Margarito wins. They are my 2 favourite fighters but style wise,Tony is horrible for Cotto. If Cotto stands and fights,Tony is bigger and stronger,if Cotto tries to box like he did v Shane,he's getting KTFO on the ropes,which is where Marg finishes a huge % of his opponents,when they are laying on the ropes. Cotto's biggest weakness(uppercut) is Tony's biggest strength,in fact Marg has P4P some of the best uppercuts,both right and left.
Marg wins this fight either way,only way to beat him is if you run or if you throw 1,200 punches,Cotto will do neither. I NEEEEED Tony to beat Cintron!!Then,the day I collect sigs for this fight,saddoboxing will be,for that day,ElGamo boxing 8) 8)

You know what El Gamo ?? i'll have the bet with you that Cotto wins but i see this as 50-50 match up. Tony is big and strong and could take Cotto's shots and give him some back just as worse. Cotto has the better punching technique though and he has much quicker hand speed than Margarito. I wouldn't say uppercuts are one of Cotto's biggest flaws, i've never seen him really caught with uppercuts and awful lot. Even when he was rocked by Torres and Corley and they were from right hooks and left hooks not uppercuts. He was caught by Judah's uppercut a few times but Cotto soon adjusted to that, but lets remember that Judah is much quicker than Margarito and that uppercut is hard to see its sneaky one that comes out of nowhere. I think Cotto will use his boxing skills and out point Margarito. I think Cotto is a better all round boxer than Margarito and he has the tools to beat Margarito, i have seen Cotto on the back foot using counter shots while circling the ring very well. Tony's hooks are wide where as Cotto's are shorter so Cotto will be able to get inside Tony's hook. If Cotto stands and trades i make Margarito the favorite if Cotto uses his boxing skills which i think he will, then Cotto should outpoint the much slower Margarito. Also both men seem to get stronger as the fight goes on so this will be an exciting and very interesting fight.

Its a hard fight to pick. Cotto is the far better fighter, but he doesn't have the same kind of chin. That being said against Mosley I think he did a good job not getting hit flush a whole lot of times. He kept his hands up better and most of Mosley's hooks were catching him on top of the head and that is way easier to take, that being said Cotto is biggest body puncher Margarito has faced, and I think that his tall thin frame might have difficulties dealing with that. I see Margarito having a hard time getting of because Cotto is faster, and he thinks faster... Paul Williams was one step ahead of Margarito until he got tired, but up to that point Margarito just couldn't get off fast enough, and I think Cotto's jab and his timing will cause Margarito tons of problems not to mention Cotto only got hit like 30% or lower against Zab and MOsley in his last two fights so Tony will have harder time hitting him than some people think.
