Is RJJ being serious:he really wanted to drop weight to fight Oscar?

Is this guy for real or am I being gullible?
I would be willing to drop in weight and break all the PPV numbers and fight him. Just like I went up to heavyweight, doing something that hasn’t been done in 106 years for the good of the game. Why wouldn’t Oscar be willing to get in the ring with me? He could get inside 160. I’m not asking him to gain 30lbs like I did."
Have you asked Golden Boy Promotions for that fight?"
Jones Jr's answer: "Yes we did, and they said no he does not want to get into the ring with me. I took gambles for the history of game. Why won’t these guys take gambles like I did?

Because they don't wanna fuck their bodies up Roy
Re: Is RJJ being serious:he really wanted to drop weight to fight Oscar?
Roy is no different than all these other guys that are calling DLH out. They all want the GREEN. Don't by all that "for the good of the game" BS.
That is why I hate when people complain about Oscar and how he don't deserve the fights against the best and how he is holding up the welterweight while he decides who to fight. It aint his fault he's the biggest frigin draw in the sport. It ain't his foult all these fighters are waiting on him.
Hatton, Mayweather, Wright, Jones and all those other guys who have called him out are the guys you should be complaining about.
Re: Is RJJ being serious:he really wanted to drop weight to fight Oscar?
Is Roy dumb? Why does he think he had all those troubles when he came back down from Heavywegiht? Does he want to destroy his body more just to fight Dela HOya? Anyways for Dela Hoya Floyd, not Roy, is on the top of the world right now, and against Floyd at least he would have the size advantage.
Re: Is RJJ being serious:he really wanted to drop weight to fight Oscar?
To answer the thread question... Yes, I do think Jones is serious that he would move to 166 to fight Oscar.
However, Roy knows as well as anyone that there is no way in hell that Oscar would ever fight him. Oscar doesn't need Roy to make a lot of money, so why would Oscar move all the way to 166 and fight a much bigger guy, when he can make more money fighting at a more comfortable weight against smaller guys like Floyd?
Roy needs to focus his time on trying to get the Hopkins/Calzaghe winner to face him.
Re: Is RJJ being serious:he really wanted to drop weight to fight Oscar?
There is no way he could weigh light middle again. It is one thing bulking up but the last time he was 156lb must have been 20 years ago.
Re: Is RJJ being serious:he really wanted to drop weight to fight Oscar?
Has Jones Jr got a money problem? It's ridiculous calling out DLH when he knows only to well that Oscar will never fight at 160 again. I can see Roy making Super Middle and even that would be a stretch, he looked pretty cut at 170 against Tito so i don't know where he will lose the other 10lb? Jones jr has at best two more fights in him, he should be calling out the Calzaghe V Hopkins winner or Pavlik V Taylor if he is serious at all about anything. There is no reason at this time of year that Roy Jones jr cannot fight two more times.

Jones said 166, not 156. Supermiddleweight.
Re: Is RJJ being serious:he really wanted to drop weight to fight Oscar?
he couldn't KO Old Tito Trinidad, I think he fought well but there is something missing.....Hopkins KO'd Trinidad and De la Hoya...it wouldn't look good if RJJ fought the same guys and had more trouble with them at this point in time.
However if RJJ fought Hopkins, Calzaghe, or even the winner of Taylor-Pavlik II he'd be ok and have nothing to be ashamed of even if he lost.
Where's the rematch with Glencoffe Johnson???

That would make sense, RJJ talks too fast. I need subtiles.
Re: Is RJJ being serious:he really wanted to drop weight to fight Oscar?
All Jones should be thinking about is avenging his losses. He does that and he is guaranteed top 10 ATG status.
Re: Is RJJ being serious:he really wanted to drop weight to fight Oscar?
.....I think he could beat Johnson, I just think he needs to move more and throw more punches....he got beat up in that fight, Tarver just caught him with a lucky punch and that bastard was going to demand to fight RJJ until he won anyway.
I believe we can all agree Antonio Tarver is an asshole
