The British RBR - Ajose Olusegun v Nigel Wright - Commonwealth LWW title
In tonight's RBR action we have probably the most unheralded light-welterweight in Britain in action in Olusegun, a classy southpaw who has surfed under many a radar defending his Commonwealth title against Nigel Wright.
Ajose Olusegun (21-0, 11KOs) is the victim of being a good fighter in the best division in Britain, as the Nigerian born fighter has been missing out on the paydays and the limelight as Ricky Hatton, Junior Witter, Colin Lynes and Gavin Rees have all achieved higher honours. Olusegun is a good southpaw boxer, showing shades of a style similar to Junior Witter, claiming the title in an overwhelming win against Gary Reid for the Commonwealth belt last summer. Although his boxing skills are excellent, his impatience showed in some periods, with unneccessary showboating against the game Reid. Olusegun is certainly a big favourite going into this, and will be expected to outbox Wright tonight.
Nigel Wright (18-2-1, 9KOs) will be the big underdog tonight, but is not to be underestimated, as he is coming off a draw against Lenny Daws which he could well have won, and also has the scalps of Gary REid, Kevin McIntyre and Alan Bosworth on the record. The worry for Wright will be that he is not the biggest puncher, and will have to work hard closing down Olusegun and will need to out-scrap Olusegun who would almost certainly win if it becomes a chess match.
Action starts in an hour or so, and is available in the UK on Sky Sports 1.

Bugger, I forgot Sky Sports have switched the start time of their Fight night shows. We're currently in round 6 here.
Olusegun puts a few shots into the body. Wright jabbing well though. Wright catches Olusegun on the way in. Jim Watt is laying into Olusegun at the moment, who is apparently dreadful so far. Two body shots from Olusegun.
Not gonna judge that one. I guess I'll throw my hat into the ring for the last 6 rounds.
Sorry folks.

Round 7:
Olusegun on the offensive. Jim Watt has it 59-56 Wright, so I'll start from there. Olusegun going to the body. Olusegun putting in lots of shots, but Wright acurate with the counter. Body shot from Wright. A couple of body shot from Olusegun. Left hook and a body shot. Covers up well against a Wright flurry. Olusegun seems to be swinging a little wildly, but finding the sides and arms of Wright. Clinching. Left hook from Olusegun. Wright looking for hooks and missing. Olusegun more aggressive. Jab and body shot from Olusegun. Wright with a shot on the bell.
Counting Watt's 59-56 after six, my score goes to Olusegun that round.
68-66 Wright
Round 8: Wright catches Olusegun with a left hook. Olusegun swapping jabs with Wright. Jab and body shot from Olusegun. A little more cagey this round. Olusegun ducking Wright shots, then lands to the body. Two body shots from Olusegun. Good jab rom Olusegun, then three body shots landing. Olusegun gutting it out in this round, swinging to the body. Wright cut on the eyebrow of his left eye. Olusegun working to the body, still scrappy however. Wright countering accurately, but not throwing too much.Olusegun with a nice jab, but is looking for a bit of a rest with a cagey style in the last minute of the round.
77-76 Wright after that session.

Round 9:
Body shots from Olusegun. It's a scrap in there, exactly what I didn't expect from Olusegun. Big left hook from Olusegun, and Wright shows great resilience. Olusegun circling. Wright comes forward and Olusegun clinches. Uppercut from Olusegun. Wright with a good stragiht right hand. They swap jabs. Wild left hook from Olusegun easily blocked. Both fighters looking tired in there. Olusegun looking to launch shots from distance, and is more accurate with him being more patient. Body shot and an uppercut from Olusegun. Body shot and right hook from Olusegun. Olusegun showing that nasty showboating streak of his, which does him no favours. Wright coming forward, but two straight shots blocked.
Olusegun's round.
86-86 Olusegun.

Re: The British RBR - Ajose Olusegun v Nigel Wright - Commonwealth LWW title
Round 10:
Olusegun taking the momentum now. Early intensity from Olusegun, who is expending a lot of effort with scrappy wide hooks which are landing more often than the infrequent Wright counters. Good body shots from Olusegun, and it looks as though he puts a lot into them. Good right hook from Olusegun, who is working hard again in the first half of this round. Wright with a body shot in the clinch. Olusegun's style of ducking low making it hard for Wright to land meaningful shots. Olusegun with long right hands landing, The swap jabs. Olusegun looking confident, but takes a left hook getting too close to Wright. Immediate flurry returned from Olusegun. Body shots on Wright, who looks the more tired man now. They touch gloves at the end of the round.
Olusegun's round.
96-95 Olusegun. Sorry to have missed the early Wright dominance though.

Round 11:
Wright with a couple of jabs, and they trade hooks. Olusegun digs into the body twice more. Wright goes over the ducking Olusegun with straight shots.Olusegun caught on the inside coming in. Olusegun with a right hook. Still scrappy stuff though. Body shots from Olusegun, who isn't looking the classy boxer I described an hour ago. Left hook from Olusegun, whose movement is good enough to make Wright miss a few. They go toe-to-toe, swapping hooks in a nice flurry from both. Two shots from Olusegun, then a nice right from Wright. Wright's corner yelling at him to come forward, but he's hesitating a little too much. Wright caguht again. The ref is stepping in more. Three body shots from Olusegun.
Olusegun another round with one to go.
106-104 Olusegun.

Round 12:
Both corners sound like they're reading the riot act. They swap jabs. A good flurry from Olusegun and those body shots look impressive. Wright with a few jabs. Body shot from Wright, but returned by Olusegun. They clinch, and Oluseguns with two short hooks inside. Wright with a short hook, but Olusegun is still flurrying well, if not exceptionally accurately. A scruffy little wrestle in the middle. Right to the body from Olusegun, and he's clinching a lot in this session. Good right from Wright, and Olusegun stumbled a little, but two Wright hooks not enough to unsettle Olusegun, who is back in the saddle quickly. Flurry from Olusegun, but Wright with a body shot again. Overhand left from Olusegun, then another flurry as Wright comes in.
Olusegun takes the last round. Just.
116-113
Let's see where the score takes the belt.

116-113, 116-113, 116-113. All to Ajose Olusegun retains his title, and overcomes his toughest challenge so far. Not exactly a rapturous welcome for that decision, but Wright gets a good cheer afterwards, and Olusegun can move on from this one, probably a fair bit wiser than he was before.

Thanks for the commentary.
Would give you a rep, only can't give you one on account of my current eunuch status.
Re: The British RBR - Ajose Olusegun v Nigel Wright - Commonwealth LWW title
Thanks man, you have been "repped".
Re: The British RBR - Ajose Olusegun v Nigel Wright - Commonwealth LWW title
To be honest guys, I'm not sure I deserve it after my shocking timing failure of tuning in half an hour late. :p And anyway, I'm not sure what the numbers mean! ;)
But y'all get repped too.
