Re-watched the bout tonight and I forgot how good that fight was...I had seen it once when it happened and TBH had not thought about that fight in years....I know the other 2 times they met Vazquez made easy work of Larios but the 2nd one was non stop puching all night....I think that fight ranks up there with some of the all time slug fest..like Gatti/Ward...Just my opp
I watched it as well; it had been a while since I had seen it. I wish they'd play Larios/Linares again; now that was fun to watch.
I haven't seen it in a while but it was a great fight.
Seems like I remember thinking it was slightly too one sided in Larios favor to be an all time fight. Not like he dominated or anything but I had him clearly winning. Still a real good fight.
Is Vasquez ever in a dull fight?
Yea i was watching it last night on espn classic. Larios threw over a thousand punches. That fight is what rafa should consider studying, the over hand right, or straight right worked all night for larios and was the single punch to finally put isreal down at the 12 round.Larios was the undisputed best at the division at that time imo.
Larios vs McCullough was a great fight to watch as well.... Another one I saw quite a long while ago but should probably download and watch again..
All 3 of their fights were superb.... One of the best trilogies of recent times...:)
Israel Vasquez is my favourite fighter at the moment. His fight with Jhonny Gonzales was awsome. Could not beleive some people were booing in that fight. They must be the same ones that booed in the Gatti v Ward fights idiots. That was the best fight of the year.
